Although most Europeans speak (some) English, it is very much appreciated if you use some expressions in the local language. It ‘s a fun preparation to make a list of expressions like good morning, thank you, good night etc. In several languages 😊

Thanks! We mix our travel for Europe. Started with transatlantic sailing to get to Europe - price just a bit more than flights. Then a week of land visits to Prague and Budapest. Finished with a river cruise. Amazing vacation taking advantage of having the time to travel like this.

Even if you didnt get any excursions, just walking around the European ports seems like enough

To me excursions feel like too much time in a vehicle for a short sprint

Cancelled flight, 8 hour delay due to strike, bomb scare, engine change. All of these have happened to me on transAtlantic flughts !!

I agree with overbooking. I will need to do my research.

Midwest and you're not used to heat? Had worse heat in Kentucky (105+100%humidity- same in St Louis/Chicago/Omaha/KC) than Death Valley(29Palms 115+15%)

Taking a cruise in August that goes to Kavala Greece, Ephesus Turkey, Istanbul, mykonos and Santorini. Which of these ports, in your opinion, do you not need to purchase tours. Thank you in advance!
@carolinelane95994 ай бұрын
Mykonos no need. When we stayed on Mykonos those blue and white buildings you see are in one concentrated area. 2hrs max to wander. Maybe longer for a drink and food. Hugely expensive though. We found there really wasnt much else to see on the island. As an Aussie who has travelled extensively, one of the most overated places ever. Santorini you could probably go without. Ship docks and you get the cable car up to the main area. Then just wander. Be prepared for hordes of people and stairs. Istanbul pretty sure the ships dock near the old town. But i maybe wrong. To see all the normal tourist places is so easy. There are trams that take you everywhere you would need to go if the ships dock in the old town. . Only problem is the long lines to get into places. We were there in September a few years ago and the lines were over an hour each. Boat Tour may get you in quicker. We were staying in Istanbul for a number of days so didnt need a tour. Catch a public ferry over to the Asian side.

I have a question regarding internet onboard a cruise ship. I’m planning to go to Europe and was wondering how reliable and fast the internet is onboard. I’m a teacher and I’m thinking about meeting my class via Zoom to teach for 3 hours every day. If the Internet isn’t good, I’ll probably need to ask for a substitute. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏 I enjoyed this video very much.

The internet is usually reliable, but it depends on the ship. It isn't as good as you would find on land, but I am able to work while on cruise ships (including attending calls). I think you will be fine!
@geoffreystevenson26096 ай бұрын
Most cruise ships are in port during the day so the internet is very reliable but……don’t forget the time differences between 6 -9 hours on the USA

Which one is your favorite cruise line to travel in Europe and any recommended routes?
@asadb19903 ай бұрын
There are many options depending on your budget and needs. For super cheap, Msc is pretty decent. A decent cruise line is royal carribean. Premium ones include norwegian, disney, virgin, etc. Luxury go up from there.

I live in England and can’t speak for all European countries or cultures. In general, European and British restaurants and service industries do not have the tipping culture like in the USA and Canada. That being said, it is always appreciated but it is not the norm nor is the expectation.

@@King-bx5xtYes. But you need to tip the ship cabin staff and in ship restaurants.

TOP TIP: Arrange your excursions months ahead with 3rd party companies. DO NOT USE ONBOARD SHOREX!!! You will be ripped off.
