Athletic taping for big toe joint arthritis (hallux) limitus. This tutorial for hallux limitus taping is an easy athletic taping technique that requires minimal learning curve and can be done with any OTC athletic tape. This big toe joint arthritis taping technique utilizes a basket weave taping technique to brace the big toe joint ( first MPJ) when moving around.
Combine this hallux limitus taping technique with a custom or over the counter orthotic to gain even more control of your big toe joint (1st MPJ). This athletic taping technique for big toe joint arthritis works bare foot or in a shoe but will last longer in a shoe with a strong heel counter and midsole/ shank. You can use all sizes of tape for this athletic taping tutorial but I prefer classic athletic tape to KT tape/ kinesio tape for this 1st mpj taping technique

Looks great. I have bone spurs and arthritis in my big toe, I just wear those super thin carbon insoles. I put them under the existing soul in my shoe and I can walk normally and run and do stuff but my toe does not bend

Hey! I suffer from same issue but could NOT get the thin rigid carbon fiber insole into my running shoes which have a natural curve to them. So would love to know what you did. Wish there was a way to just have the toe part rather than a flat board for the whole foot to have to walk on. Thanks!

I recently had this happen for the first time and after 4 days of wearing Dr. Martens it was 60% gone. A week later it flared up so I wrapped my foot with an ace bandage and it was gone overnight. Is that normal?
