Heya Gavin, nice review of the thermal scope. I've got a cheaper Hikvision thermal scope, pretty happy with it even with a thermal sensor about 1/3 the resolution as yours but at $2000 Cdn the price is right and we can import them here. In regards to the fun you are having with having to heat targets IE. I found that if you fold up a small square of tinfoil and staple it to a cardboard or plywood the thermals can pick up the difference and give you a good point of aim.

@saltymofo what was the problem with your Athlon. I have been shooting their ares ETR in NRL22 competitions and love it. I also use their spotting scopes and I dropped mine and broke it and they sent me a new one. Customer service is amazing.

@jessebodey94219 ай бұрын
Thermals are more compact, however, I like the pulsar c50 night vision because its like watching a real video vs the animated color from thermal. Also, I can identify better what I am looking at. Some pet dogs look like coyotes in thermal.
@seetownwv9 ай бұрын
I do like the identifying aspect of night vision. I recommend it to anyone who does not do a whole lot of night hunting or budget. If you get a good 384 or 640 though I think you can identify pretty well to 300 yards once again depending on budget. Thing aggravated me about night vision was light reflecting on tall grass or tree limbs or even snow.
@jessebodey94219 ай бұрын
The pulsar c50 is quite impressive, even without ir on. It is also better now as far as reflection. You still have some reflection though.@@seetownwv

@KevinWood44 I seen IRAY just released recently a thermal scanner for 700. It's only a 256 but from videos I was impressed. Be a great benefit with night vision to help spot stuff further out to get you on it quicker. You should be able to get a good night vision for 600 or less. Wraith is fairly cheap never looked through one but never heard anything bad. Good IR light makes difference on any of them.

@marcostreet3169 ...that's a good question, I've been researching all the 640 units, the build, the image quality, nedt, display and warranty with custermer service. My choice, for the money is the new iray RH50R with the LRF $5500. I'm putting my deposit down this Wed.
