താങ്കൾ നാട് വിട്ടിട്ടു കുറെ കാലമായി എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു . ഇതൊക്കെ ഇപ്പൊ പഴയ സിനിമയിലെ ഉള്ളൂ. പണക്കാരെ ചേട്ടൻ, അച്ചായൻ , സാഹിബ് എന്ന് വരെ വിളിച്ചു നക്കിത്തുടക്കുന്ന സംസ്കാരം ആണ് ഇപ്പോൾ. സ്വകാര്യ മുതലാളിമാരെ എങ്ങനെ എങ്കിലും വിളിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് വരൻ ഇൻഡക്സ് പരസ്യപ്പെടുത്തി അതും കാണിച്ചു വിദശത്തു വരെ ഓടി നടപ്പുണ്ട്. ചെറിയ കയ്യേറ്റം പോലും ഇപ്പൊ മൈൻഡ് ചെയ്യാറില്ല . സൂപ്പർ മാർക്കറ്റിന്റെ കയറ്റിറക്ക് തർക്കത്തിന് പോലും ലേബർ ഓഫീസർക്ക് പകരം ഇപ്പൊ മന്ത്രി ആണ് പോകുന്നത്. പതിനായിരം രൂപ ശമ്പളത്തിൽ ഫാക്ടറി പരിസരത്തു ചേരി കെട്ടി താമസിക്കാൻ കൂടി ഇനി ബാക്കിയുള്ളൂ.

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ പാർലമെന്റ് മന്ദിരം 64,500 sq ft, 2020 ൽ പണി തുടങ്ങി 2023 സെപ്റ്റംബറിൽ പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചു. ഗുരുവായൂർ മേൽപ്പാലം 517 മീറ്റർ 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ മാസം പണി തുടങ്ങി ഇപ്പോഴും തുടർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്ന് പണി തീർക്കുമെന്ന് ആർക്കും അറിയില്ല. സാറ് പറഞ്ഞപോലെ ഇച്ഛ ശക്തിയുള്ള ഭരണാധികാരിയും, ഭരണകൂടവും വേണം, അത്‌ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടോ?

On our visit in 2016, we could visit the World Trade Centre, but couldn't take the ferry travel to the statue of Liberty. But the suspension bridge in Punalur, which we walked for 3 years for studies in 1964-67 , comes to mind. Every feat of engineering has one or more brave engineers. True with the Brooklyn Bridge, and the 1877 Punalur Suspension Bridge. How many times, I have gazed at the chain and the towers of P S Bridge. One man's sacrifice- many people's convenience. ❤.
