I like your install. Lower is always better, even if only 3inches. Just because you asked for different opinions, what about turning it 90° and moving it to the passenger side, could you then have lowered it further because it would be next to the drive shaft? I think it's worth keeping the center of gravity as low as possible and if 3 inches is all you can get 👍 for that project you gotta remember liquids are heavy

IMO it's better that way rather than the original idea. I would think that taking the latches off the ali container and having them on the steel would have "broken" the homologation. Probably not worth the effort sinking it in but where's the fun in that?
