Hometown Airline's attempts to foil or disrupt the inaugural were swatted away as if they were flies. From Doha cometh Qatar. Hey Matty, great video. The helicopter was an A-star (Eurocopter AS350) probably from one of the local news stations recording the A-380 in the new airline flying into ATL. The Blackhawk helicopters were neat but they have to guts when it comes to the sound of their engines. When they're coming up on you it's like "oh yeah this is going to be good" and as soon as they're over you you're like "where's the beef" atleast that's what I think. I'd of rather of seen two Apaches fly over, I love the Apache

Sadly, very sadly that was just a temporary swap. I was pained to see the A380 back in action over the weekend. So it seems the days of the 748 are behind us and we're back to status quo Sidestick Monster Machine. It SUCKS!

Matt that helicopter may have been shooting for a British TV program which has been going on the last 3 weeks called "city of the skies" it basically runs through the major parts in aviation! And they filmed in Atlanta because of course it's the busiest airport in the world! The Qatar was an awesome touch! Awesome vid again!

It's sad but funny that ATL didn't have a gate ready for the Qatar A380. If Qatar gave the heads up a little more earlier, then they would have gotten the A380 gate. FYI, David Garrett was instrumental in making Delta what it is today. He was loyal and was President when I worked there from 1980-1988 giving way to Ron Allen. Garrett should have his name on more than 1......nice vids however...

Oh I'm well aware! It's not David Garrett that I object to. It's the use of a small font signature on the cheek of a 777 to honor his contribution. I think we should have an active retro livery (not museum static display) that reflects the Delta of old. The classic "widget" livery. Other airlines do it. Why can't Hometown Airline? It's frustrating to have only 1 special livery (aside from SkyTeam). So that's what I'm objecting to in this video. Anyway, Thanks Dana! I really appreciate it!

The A380 is only the first few minutes of the video. If you watch the whole thing you'll see a wide variety of aircraft. "Other planes to(o) you know", as you stated.

You were correct! Delta's majority of A330's are 300 with 29, but they have 11 A332's as well! Do you know why Qatar quit the A380 to ATL? The day it did fly there, they had a maze of passenger buses because the airport put the only A380-compatible gate in the bad hands of an A319. ATL blamed Qatar for not telling them they were bringing a large aircraft, and Qatar blamed ATL for bad planning. I agree with Qatar. I mean, ATL had 13 hours to figure out that QR755 was an A380! Not to brag, but we have A350's in Boston! And Irish and Italians and Swiss and Spanish and Portuguese and 748 germans. SUCK IT! Anyway, to figure out the Virgin's name, I type the registration into jetphotos.net, then look for pictures. It almost always works. And Virgin America has names too. We also get French B772's B77w's and A332's.

My heart goes out to the people of Turkey who've had to endure a horrific tragedy as well as a string of Terrorist Attacks on Istanbul and Ankara. :( Ataturk is one of the Worlds Busiest Airports and the home of Turkish Airlines. I've been to Ataturk twice before and know it's one of the World's most Secure Airports and that flights are cancelled and the runway closed while the other is still active. Either Trump or Hillary In the White House ISIS must be destroyed and their hateful Radical Islamic Ideology extinguished from this Earth.

Awesome Video Matt! :-) Great that you caught Qatar Airways A380 inaugural flight arriving from Doha. I'm certain Qatar Airways will launch daily A350 flights to Orlando. Emirates will start daily flights to Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Raleigh NC, Baltimore and Philadelphia. It's very rude of Delta to block Qatar's inaugural A380 from using the sole gate for A380s at ATL. Delta Blocking Qatar Airways is like Donald Trump banning Muslims from coming to America. On a separate note Britain has voted to leave the European Union. President Obama said Britain would be last in line for a Trade Deal. If Hillary Clinton is elected President Republicans in Congress and the Senate must make it clear that a US-UK Trade Agreement is in the best interest of both our two nations.
