Darius has the patience of a saint. The bag that he tosses in the garbage at the end are very likely the ingredients he brought for Mimi to cook him with the Moin Moin. If it were anybody else they would’ve freaked out if some white lady jogged past them telling them to “recycle that.”

Hi Sierra. Interesting takes on the themes of this episode. I enjoyed your perspective. I too was weirdly happy to see Earn gain confidence and do things right for once. Like Alfred taking his idea and actually running with it, despite initially shooting it down. I really like the dynamic that is evolving between the two cousins. Also if you're curious and worried about Van, you're in for a real treat later on! Thanks again for your video. Keep it up!

She put Naija in the name because like Darius told her Naija basically means “Nigerian “ . Nigerian people call Nigerian music “Naija music “ for instance. I think this episode is very deep because it realistically portrays how efforts to help Black causes (especially if funded by White run organizations) very often wind up becoming projects that incidentally help a few Black people by helping all people in general. It’s generally frowned upon to use fundings to target helping Black people specially but this is unfair because many other specific groups get targeted for specific help all the time it’s just not considered acceptable to do that for Blacks by many in politics. In fact. Because of some rulings in the 80s it’s damn near illegal for government and non profits to specifically help Black people financially. This happened as a backlash to affirmative action and the hatred White people had for it. So basically you can’t help dig Black people out of the financial hole past and present racism specifically aimed at them put them in because giving them that help because of their race is considered reverse racism. Black people have specific problems that need specific solutions but because of legalities and politics those solutions get “all lives mattered “ . It’s an entirely f’d up situation that holds Black progress back tremendously.

I didn’t get it at first either but saw other reviews refer to Central Park 5. That’s what was so messed up about the jersey. How tone deaf and insulting.

al and the others standing up there forgiving them on behalf of all black people reminded me of whenever there's a case when a black person is wronged by a white person, like amber guyger, and they get a light sentence, they always get a black person to speak to the press and viewers, like "oh i'm black too. don't be mad, i'm here to pacify you because you'd take this news better from me than somebody that's not black." and yeah earn came a long way from living in that storage unit. the restaurant was messed up. and i didn't know if it was right to be mad at it. because she said paid the family money for it, so it's not like she stole it. but yeah i was really uncomfortable watching that. it was really cringy. lol
