I grew up in Chicago on the Westside and ATL as well...I'm talking about the real ATL (inside of I-285) not Dekalb, Cobb, Clayton county, etc. I always tell people there are two sides to ATL. Out of towners come down here thinking it's all fun, women, celebrities, strip clubs, and Black Hollywood. Nah...Atlanta has the highest income gap between rich and poor in the US.
@jamessanders67884 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. When I visited/lived in Atlanta, between 89 - 2001, I was shocked by the disparity. And I am from Baltimore. Baltimore was much different, even during the middle stages of it's downfall. Atlanta poverty was shocking to me.

@@jamessanders6788 My pops moved downtown on Peachtree St. in 86, and we used to live either in the Old 4th Ward area or in Zone 5 which is borderline Midtown/Downtown, so I used to live down the street from Techwood Homes(the first public housing in the US), the Fox Theatre, the Varsity and 3 miles from the Underground and Magic City(LOL). So I've seen the transformation of this town unlike most and I know it's history. When I used to visit my dad in the summer and moved to go to school down here permanently, I was amazed at Black folks were apart of the machine. It felt good to see Black folks driving luxury cars, owning businesses, living in mansions, and sending their kids to private schools. However, in reality, there are a lot of successful Black folks in ATL that don't really care about those still living in the underclass. That's why I say racism is real, it's still relevant but classism is so much more powerful and potent.
@annahospodka76574 жыл бұрын
I grew up about an hour away from Chicago and now live 45 mins outside of ATL. As you know, Chicago is the murder capital. You’ve probably had experienced things a lot worse than people who live in the hoods down here because you grew up on the west side of Chicago. I completely agree with what you said on they’re being two sides of ATL. I also agree with what you said on people who aren’t from here thinking that everything’s fun. However, there’s more things to do in Chicago. Since Atlanta has warmer winter weather, more homeless people would want to stay down there because homeless people want to live in warmer climates.

Krog Street is NOT "The HOOD". All those old tenant houses are selling for about $300K.

in nyc its triple that. whats your point? most rent that's why nobody takes care of them and gives a damn
@KrisB822 жыл бұрын
@@mikemike5422 His point was pretty obvious. The video is titled “hood”, anyone that lives in the Metro ATL area can tell you Krog St isn’t hood. And $300k in Atlanta is A LOT, we aren’t talkin about NYC, y’all could buy a 900 sq ft apartment in Manhattan for $300k.

Bro with your videos you should edit the videos and Everytime u come to a different hood the name and location should come up as well as should should talk about the history of the communities it should not be about bad hood but about how's these communities got hear Also you should talk more bro while driving about things we don't know about these communities The black world is much like this all factz

For all the ppl who love their hoods it's the best time to but your home there as shitty as it may seem but Atlanta is changing and your purchase will be worth a pretty penny after you fix it up. Don't believe me look at zone 6.

Selina S they tore all the projects down in Atlanta years ago. Gentrification is taking over and the only hoods still standing are on the Westside Zone1 and Zone 4 as well as some neighborhoods in Zone 3 and a few on the East. But nothing is the same anymore. Even 4th Ward is being gentrified
