I'm in South Carolina. We got a few 80mph wind gusts. A lot of houses in our neighborhood are going to need some roof maintenance work.

Here in Aiken SC, right next to Augusta GA. We got hit pretty hard here, it was tolerable & minimal damage as far as I know. But I saw the sky light up sooo bright it was blueish; greenish from the power lines. Our lights kept flickering all throughout the night till the wee morning. At 6:17 we lost power but when I prayed it came back on at 6:45am! So I thank God we’re one of the few houses we have our power back. I believe it’s a little over 1million customers without power. I’ll be praying for those affected by this hurricane.

@@OneOfMany111 Actually the bottom half of Florida will be gone in 50 years. The Everglades will be gone. Going to be a nasty place to live. The ocean rises at an 1/8 of an inch in height per year at this rate. By 2080, Disney World will have new ocean view real estate.

These folks need to take all allocated funds besides thier salaries with all donations and contributions in all of names leaving it behind when they leave into an account to dip into for catastrophes like this and other projects and costs with help being more covered and using what State hands them in a separate account to also cover costs needed...

@@CraigHolliman They actually need to rebuild the whole institution of insurance in this country. Also stop putting houses in obvious hotspots.

Just looking at the physical changes we humans have made on Earth from roads to farming to mining to city building of course we are changing the environment. Start with what everyone can see with their own eyes and remember the past is over, we need to make today good so tomorrow can be a little bit better. We share the same home and this thing we have named life so we need to, together, do and be better.

Like the people, who Republicans suggest to move to another state without an abortion ban, if they wish to have that freedom, I would equally suggest that to avoid annually increasing hurricane danger, people move out of the hurricane band.

This is exactly what they're talking about. Warming oceans causing more frequent, larger storms...causing more damage to people & buildings, especially in coastal areas. It's a long term cause & effect thing. Planning for it, trying to do what we can to prevent or lessen the impacts is what all the hoopla is about. It's just smarter than pretending it isn't happening.
