great video, just finished the show. I would like to believe that darius’ smile at the end was a nod to the fact that judge judy wasn’t thick. Cause so what if he catches a charge for the Maserati, it doesn’t matter cause that moment he had with his friends was real.

This was great. For a show that just finished but premiered in 2016 it was great to see things from season 1 and 2 that were forgotten. A great thing about this show is we could re-watch multiple times and come away with a different “ take” on what so and so meant but the lessons will be there all the same. We dont often get to see ourselves depicted as nuanced and layered and Atlanta always delivered here while still having no shame of some of the outside perceptions black ppl may receive. 10/10 for this series

@@BothAuntVivs a tie between TEDDY PERKINS and HELEN ? The one where they went to German Oktoberfest. I felt it was powerful. I REALLY, REALLY liked Van on there. It was her most powerful acting to me because it really seemed like they were in a relationship and she was tired of him. When she said "I'm tired of going to Al's shows..." Childish Gambino said, "Those shows are paying your rent right now. You might not want to shit on that." All she could to think to say was, "You can be really mean, man." That's sounds like something a hippie from the 70's would say. He transformed that girl with one sentence.

The show is shot beautifully. My issue is the racial elements in S3 and S4. Glover portrays a world that is racist and exploitive of black people. To combat this, Earn and his group have to respond with similar acts of spite, pettiness, and cruelty. For example, when he plants the gun. Why would he do that ? That manager was nice to them. It felt like such a dark and unnecessary thing to do. Same with the episode where they go to the billionaires house, and they try to exploit him. Even though he was being nice and trying to help. Glover makes out as if the black characters have to be as cruel and vindictive as the white people who have wronged them in history. This messaging is too cynical and simplistic. I live in Europe and am a person of colour. Europe is not racist like that. S3 was ridiculous in this way. Sox stealing Paper Boi's phone is another example. Why would he do that ? Makes no sense, but just a chance to portray a sinister evil person who is being racist. Even though he befriended and was cool with Darius. The scene in the London hotel when a lady screams at Van accusing her of stealing is so ridiculous that it's funny. Nobody in London would ever do that. Especially in a nice hotel. Glover at times is too deep in his head. He tries to bring historical racism into the modern era. It's over the top and too cynical.

the world IS racist and exploitative. Why did we need the Civil Rights Movement? When was that in place? Why were there miscegenation laws? You get to enjoy cognitive dissonance; I do not. I have to accept this TRUTH.

Earn thought it was Clark countys bag he was putting it in not the managers. I don't know who you're referring to when you say "billionaires" house if you are referring to the Juneteenth episode the problem with that is this guy thinks he is apart of this culture and thinks of black people as just black people if you're referring to the old man and the tree episode then this guy literally would not pay Alfred after he fairly won a game. There isn't a reason directly given for Sox stealing the phone but there doesn't have to be. I think it would be fair to assume Van did steal what the lady said she stole with how she acted that whole season because it's never said that she did or didn't from what I remember she it wasn't even a racist thing the entirety of season 3 is focused on the "anti racist" or "fake progressive" culture of Europe or just white people when they try to relate or act like they even know black people that scene you were referring to earlier ended with Earn and Van getting a free room because they knew how uncomfortable the people in there were it's actually showing how much power earn and van had over them through white shaming. The characters are never cruel or even cruel intentionally the world around them is and any person would react the same way they do in their situation it's not a realistic show and it's not meant to be it's satirical and "exaggerated" versions of real life situations so that should be kept in mind when watching this show.
