Germans from Italy. Atlantic was a 1970´s company that did a wide variety of toy soldiers and figures. Often a bit weird poses but super charming and fun figures non the less.

Atlantic's career ended with the Goldrake series. As a kid, I had tons of them. Thank you for the video, really fun.

In the 70s they were the most loved by us Italian children they were cheap compared to airfixes, the tricolor boxes cost 100lire 0.05 euros! Now I'm 58 and I still collect both the ho scale, the 1/72 and the 1/32

Love your view on these sets. It seems the fascination for plastic toy soldiers is universal. Well done sir!

Sculptwise this was likely the best WW2 set from Atlantic.

I had a lot of the Atlantic 1/87 scale figures - wild west - some very violent imagery, too, hangings, people full of arrows, etc., and their historicals - Egyptians with mummies, Ancient Greeks with soothsayers examining disembowelled animals - yes, really. All beautifully designed and moulded. Here in the UK, they were available in little sets, that were conveniently pocket money priced. I think that the 'Kit Carson' and 'Goldrush' sets were my favourites. Some years ago, their Russian Revolution set was made available again. I had to buy a couple.

I only had two sets of the HO, 1/72, 1/76 or what ever scale they were. A rocket artillery set and a regular howitzer set. I realy want to get all the wild west sets in 1/32. They are just so cool and different.

Very cool and great humour toboot! Love the way the helmets work...and back then too. Today our toy soldiers do not have the same quality...I never had these as a kid...I was given a box of Egyptians by my father...great memories. Terrific video!

Didn't see a lot of 1/32 Atlantic in Canada... some of the 1/72 stuff made it into the stores, but 1/32 Atlantic is scarce as hell here.

Lovely review. As an italian kid in the 70's, those were my toy soldiers (well, not Afrika Korps in particular, but a whole lot of Atlantic stuff). Egyptians and Greeks particularly, and their amazing sci-fi line "Galaxy series"... "Funky poses" as you say, it's right, and very 70's. I always thought those Atlantic Afrika Korps, with their weird poses were perfect to recreate nazi soldiers in "Raiders of the lost Ark"... so confused when the wraiths from the Ark smashes them. Anyway, you're probably aware of Atlantic's weirdest product, the "Revolutions" series... They had Mussolini's march on Rome, a Nazi parade with Hitler and his brown Shirts, Lenin and Chairman Mao. Great for kids to play with. Would be unthinkable today.

Oh for sure I know about the revolutionary sets. They are peak weird as far as toy soldier sets go. I had the Brown shirts set for almost 20 years but just recently bought the March on Rome set. I haven´t unpacked it yet but can´t wait. They will be in the next unpacking/unboxing video and I want to get a video up on both those sets realy soon. I also started collecting the Far West series which I think is the best sets of wild west figures from the 70s. Not the best sculpted but the most fun and imaginative.

Great unusual poses- I heard about this legendary figures but never had the pleasure of acquiring any. Love the helmets being interchangeable. Great video. Still waiting for Italian Airfix 😁

Not sure I should do this to you, but check this out, Atlantic did playsets mainly it seems in the smaller scale. Now these were based on the boxed figure sets so there was an aerodrome being assaulted by the paras, a mountain for the alpini and so on. This could be a massive rabbit hole. I remember the Atlantic Afrika Korps. I had them but wasn’t that keen as I thought they weren’t as good as the Airfix, however the ability to change the headware was impressive!

I have seen them on Ebay. Some time down the line I want those. But I want all the Wild West sets they did in 1/32 and 1/72 scale first and that´s a money pit. But maybe the coolest wild west sets ever made. I like that they also did some kinda wargaming sets with rules and everything.

So you could chose between caps or helmets? Neat! I don't think I've ever seen Atlantic in the Netherlands. Here it was mainly Airfix, Matchbox, and hard plastic Tamiya and Italeri figures etc. The drawings on the boxes remind me of the small war action comics size A5 or A6 of the 1960s/1970s, of which I had a few. 10 or 11 figures of which 3 were armed with only pistols, 1 with a knive and 1 with hand grenades? No wonder I can't remember they were sold where I live. Yet I can see they were unique, great review!

Same here, i was born in 72, in the UK and of course had Airfix/Matchbox as a kid but never even saw a box of Atlantic figures, didn't know anyone who had them and only found out about them decades later. Sad as i missed out on some interesting figures.

Regards from Brazil!! I love your videos. Please make videos about the ATLANTIC 1/32 7th Cavalry (with Custer being hit by arrows!), cowboys and indians. The are many many very cool sets with incredible acessories and equipment never shown here in YT. Some bizarre figures as "the hanged guy in a tree" (yes it's true! Make a search on google!) or "the guy being dragged by a horse". There are "cowgirls" with guns too!!! Very cool and unusual figures. You'll see!!

Those figure are ok with details but certainly very strange poses not looking were they're shooting. I wander do the helmets and caps fit? Usually with that sort of plastic seperate parts don't fit too good. The boat with the rocket boosters i did have that the guy sitting in that looks like a pilot. Strange pose. But interesting collection.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️

@@toysoldiernostalgia I spoke too soon before the close up shots of the video. The helmets and caps fit well. Come to think of it I think I did have very few of the Atlantic but because it was in my childhood can't remember about the boxes but the figures. The Airfix I do remember well for the reason the art work was so striking. sometimes there's vissions of toys come to mind. Another brand of 1/72 I use to collect was Esci especially with the American Civil War sets and Napoleonic historical. Then came Revel. The only 1/32 scale of those I have is the British Paratroopers and the once Matchbox now Revel rereleased German infantry. But the Revel 1/72 German figures are different. I did see the Atlantic German motorcycle and side car for AU $300.00+. Jeeeesus! 👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
