Last time we were there (July) the buffet was so filthy (including our table and the carpet around it) that after waiting about 30 minutes to get in - we walked out. We really like some of the other places at HR though-

I work in a supermarket. I was in the bread aisle and noticed that Thomas' English Muffins now has Bagels with Fruit Loops

@@JerseyJeffEats I always look, at buffets, to see what I'm going to be having for dessert when I'm getting my dinner plate. I'm glad you have a lot of choices. Sometimes in the past they'll have only a soft serve ice cream machine which doesn't always work.

You can't get good gravy for homemade mashed potatoes. It's so rare. Why ruin them. Give me more butter instead. I ask for gravy on the side, well, because they don't know what they're doing. Back when Banquet Frozen Meals were 99cents (for how long?!), I used to throw away the mashed potatoes with the meal, but the gravy was good, so I made my own and used that gravy. We need good gravy sold somewhere, and it won't be in a can or a jar. But we need it.

We're lucky because our supermarket has a salad bar and hot bar ($9.99, a pound, just outside New York City). It doesn't take long before there's salad leaves and egg salad all over the place. It's hard to keep up with it. I've seen salad and hot bars where there's an attendant who's sole duty is to keep it clean and I kind of like that.
