At one point no one attached to the boat at all with the sail up. Wow. Just wow. You have no idea how fast a downdraft of wind can take that boat away from you.

Just a suggestion Trav; If you want to both get in the water, put a long (100 plus feet) floating line out the back as an emergency grab line just incase some unexpected wind gust or tidal influences grabs the boats and sends it to fast for you to catch up to. I know you had one loop to grab, but what would happen if that line was unable to be grabbed?

And turn your rudder hard one way and tie it off so boat can only go in circles and stall out.

Right! Sails down, long trailing line and helm lashed hard over. Even then I don’t know that both at once is prudent. A couple decided to go for a swim while becalmed on their Hobie 16 off Capistrano beach in SoCal. While swimming the wind came up and the cat sailed away without them. Fortunately they were not in the middle of an ocean crossing and were rescued by a skipper who saw the unmanned Hobie and set a reciprocal course to investigate. Unfortunately for the couple, they were skinny dipping!

Always great to see Travis take care of every system and asset onboard. The boat always looks cared for and ultimately maintained and safe. Watching some channels it always amuses me when they question why stuff breaks when there is obviously no real routine maintenance. 👍

Travis has really come out of his shell during the crossing. He seemed like a very understated, reserved, kind of gentleman. More talkative, expressive, and genuinely proud of your huge undertaking. Glad to see that your face is healing, Steph!

I enjoy your videos. be safe, one person on the boat at all times, put your sails down, and make sure you put out at least 50 feet of line when in the water and tie some knots in the line...be safe, fair winds and following seas, safe journey my friends.

That was a terrible thing to do, both of you in the water, not tied off. And no trailing line. Please, don't take those types of risks in the Atlantic.

I love your channel but seeing both of you in the water untethered, sail up and, at one point, both of you behind the trailing looped line, Steph swimming to grab it and Travis behind her filming, is one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever seen. The rule is always always always at least one person on the boat with a long knotted trailing line. Always. Low risk but high impact. Fatal impact. Having been man overboard in the Atlantic and seeing my boat sailing away from me, I can tell you it’s absolutely terrifying. And that was with three others on board.

You've sailed long enough to know not to do that the two people off of the boat trick. Just one of you in the water would have been equally as entertaining, not put both of you at risk and not set a horribly bad example for whoever watches your content. Like you guys but be safe in the future please.

Curious, what caused you both to decide to take this journey at your ages? If you just could, that’s great! Trust me, jealous. But if it took real sacrifice, what inspired you to make that sacrifice? I know some people purposely spend everything when they’re “young” and think they’ll just work when they’re old and can’t travel anymore (honestly I cringe when I hear people say that but I’m a risk averse person). Or maybe it was a fun way to avoid the ridiculously high prices for Toronto real estate. What was the plan when you started this journey?
