Nice video. On my 2006 L322, I took the hose off the thermostat housing to free the housing. Then I was able to use palm pressure to R and R the thermostat assembly. Don't think I could have done it while the housing flopped around on the end of the hose. Also, I taped an 8mm to the end of the extension to keep the socket in place while hunting for purchase on the bottom bolt hole. Had to bleed some air when I was done, but it was worth it.

I just had my replaced due to very small leak from the housing. Was thinking to try stop leak liquid but after thinking twice i took it to mechanic. They charged me for 3.1 hours. I asked for the old part, took it home and opened to see out of curiosity. The rubber seal has already kind of melted (main reason for the leak). A plastic round plastic part inside the housing which is touching the spring was also broken.

My 06 4.2 SC L322 is throwing a P0116 code, is this more likely to be the thermostat or temp sensor? I don't have a great reader so can't dig any deeper into that than just the code. It's making the engine cooling fan run before it's even up to temp and then the temp won't come up. First question is where is the temp sensor and is it easy to replace, second is the L322 the same procedure as this but with the intake on the opposite side? Whichever part it is you'll see my order for it come through on Monday.

Hello dear, I have range rover Vogue supercharge 2007, I have change cylinder head gasket because overheat, and i didn't get any indication in the gadge thats the engine is overheated, but i still have the same problem after i change it. After 20min in the road the Ac stop and the car does not give the same performance, and the car are overheated, when i checked the water is coming out from the bolt, but i already change the bottle 🤔😔😵, i don't know what to do even i took the car to park it, i checked again and the water in the bottle was boiling like there is air inside the system , so i don't know if the issue with the cylinder head gasket that i change or termosta, or something else pls advise me

Got the same code as you. Replaced the thermostat and code came back. I’ve heard there was a second thermostat inside a lower radiator hose that can give off the same code. Is this true? 2006 4.2 SC

Thought I would check on this simple task. My mechanic quoted $487 for this change. After watching your video I see that it is no harder than I thought it would be. I assume the part is now way over $50. That leaves about 3.5 hours of labor. Am I missing something? I have used this mechanic for several cars and many repairs in the past and never had a feeling of being overcharged. Finally.....is there a major difference in doing this task for a non-supercharged Rover?
