Great fixing Adam under pressure. Your wife looks relieved to have her beloved RR back and good luck to her with the tests.

11:28 so funny...cradling the supercharger like a baby lol. man i shook my head all through this...I *can't* believe RR buried rubber hoses across a high heat area with the only way to maintain them by pulling the supercharger...that is just crazy. crazy crazy. Your wife seemed please to have her car back...good luck with the dr. tests

change all water hose and plastic connectors in cooling hoses, they are drying out and will crack. Thanks for the video
@ianwiik53572 жыл бұрын
I feel sorry to say this after watching this video, but here is how I changed that hose: - Vacuumed a rope through the old hose - At the back of the engine, vacuumed the same rope through the new hose - Tied something to end of rope so it could not pull through hoses - Put vaseline on new hose - Pulled old hose and rope from front of engine - New hose pushed old one out and slipped into its place I hope this comment is of use to somenone...

Are you serious!? That is brilliant if possible. All that removal gave me material for nightmares…
@gbeso12 жыл бұрын
You made it sound pretty easy, I’m reality how long did it take you?
@ianwiik53572 жыл бұрын
Including fiddling around I used a couple of hours. To be honest I did it twice, the first time i used a standard straight hose. There is a tight turn under there, so the standard hose collapsed after short time. I then bit the bullet and bought the expensive original hose.
@ianwiik53572 жыл бұрын
Also, if I remember correct, there are another hose under there and this is connected to somewhere under the supercharger. This hose I did not change… It may be the next ting to let go.

Hello @@ianwiik5357, thank you for your comment. A serious question from somebody with cero experience in mechanics but with a big determination to fix my 2010 range rover. What type of hose do you use it? is there any serial #, code in the hose? Thank you for your time.

I did exactly that to get a Landrover into my workshop many years ago ! I knew you'd find the engine eventually !! That would be a very expensive fix in a dealership !! So does your wife suffer with a bad back ? I 've had a chronic slipped disc for most of my adult life ( 50 years ) so sympathise ! I was extremely fortunate that my wifes parents were qualified osteopaths . Not only did they save my back but also saved me a fortune ! Well l hope your wife's health improves as l guess she runs the horse business . Thanks Adam.

What was the hose you had to replace thats the exact hose I need as well
@AdamDenning Жыл бұрын
If you’re attempting this repair and having as much pain removing the fan shroud as I am, you do NOT have to remove the full shroud. As long as the fan gets unscrewed so you can access the tentioner and get the belt off the supercharger pulley.
@LivingWithAClassic Жыл бұрын
Yea of course, you just remove the top half of it
@AdamDenning Жыл бұрын
@@LivingWithAClassic It comes in two? Was trying to find the video where you said you showed the removal before but couldn’t find it, do you which video that is? I just unscrewed the fan and left it there, shroud intact, and have been able to do everything.
@LivingWithAClassic Жыл бұрын
@ProjectCentral you can remove just the top half of it. Shown in a really old video but it’s pretty obvious.
