Atlantis Software Budget Gaming Gems for the

#AtlantisSoftware was a London-based budget game house that delivered 16 games for the #atari 8bit, 6 of which I think are hidden gems that many Atari 8bit owners, especially in the USA, have never heard of.
Almost all 16 Atlantis Atari 8bit titles were released after the #XEGS sold out it’s entire 1987 Christmas run of 100,000 UK units, which provided an incentive for budget houses that had previously ignored the Atari machines, to then start producing 2 and 3 pound cassette titles to place on the “other micros” shelf next the to racks and racks of C64, Speccy and CPC software.

Nice video! I love Atlantis stuff. So many micros had budget stuff done with care and love of the platform. Europe was good like that, they were more budget conscious than Americans.

Great stuff! I've never heard of Atlantis Software. Everytime I watch your videos, I am a bit ashamed to call the Atari 800 my first computer love because I realize that I know so little. Well, gotta start from some where :)

You know, this stuff was hard to find in the USA, so it's not on you, it's on Atari for doing such a piss poor job with the 8bits after 1984. I had to download and read every issue of Page 6 and Atari User to learn about these. I'm glad you enjoy them ad they are a blast to make.

Dawn Raider looks very similar to Airstrike II by Steven Riding

It looks a lot like it. Pretty much the exact same concept of needing to refuel both guns and engine too.

Death Race isn't just like Turbo, it is Turbo! It's the unreleased port of the Sega arcade game with a new name to avoid a lawsuit, I covered this story as well as the game in my Atari 8-bit Compendium. League Challenge is also very good, as backed up by AtariMania, and I also have a real soft spot for Pro Golf too, I think both are in my second Atari 8-bit Compendium, along with Crack Up, which will be out later this year. I must try Dawn Raider, because I love Super Cobra, and haven't played that. Gunfighter looks quite interesting as a game, but the graphics are horrible.
