This video gives me hope that the primary problem with my Craigslist "find" will turn out to be dirt. Nevertheless, I won't disassemble more than one parts grouping at a time.

Very nice. My advice to everyone is to take pictures of the parts that you think you might forget. Cleaning it is easy. It just depends on, in what order you restore them… Good luck and I hope this video was useful to you.

Really? A very nice rebuild going on, and then you use pliers to tighten the nut for the handle on the tailstock?

Thank you. Unfortunately that’s what I had available and next to me at that time. Now I’m more equipped. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

I wasn't the only one cringing then... And I do get using what is handy, but sometimes go get the right tool!

Have almost identical lathe I am working on. The auto feed lever broke off. Do you know of anyone that carries parts for these?

Very nice find. Unfortunately I do not any for sale. But I always find some parts for sale on Facebook Market. You can also join one of those Craftsman Lathe groups, and usually there’s someone who’s willing to sell or trade. Good luck to you. You have a very good lathe. 👍

@@VintageCraftsmanToolsThanks for the reply. Well luckily I found the part on ebay. it was the 10-38 scroll that the lever attaches too. And yes Its great find, it has been sitting in my friends garage for 20 years under boxes of crap in a few pieces. I Cleaned it up today and almost looks like new. Still needs a motor. The existing motor on it is an old grinder motor with 2 spindles. Lol.

Yes those are actually typical. I have an Atlas AC motor with two long spindles or shafts. Any 1725 RPM should do fine. Have fun. I have learned so much from mind. Wish you the same.
