@The Sailing Brothers it's absolutely true in my opinion. Might be that I'm from/ in South Wales myself and there's the element of a familiar accent/ vibe too. But honestly I just reckon it's the two of you, what you're involved with itself in sailing Atlas about, and how you go about things and see the voyage/ discover stuff. It's been a privilege to join you for the journey via technology. A properly good use of modern tech showing age old techniques to navigate the big blue. And again, I'm a non-sailor and just someone who stumbled across the channel. You've got me hoping to beat the sea sickness, learn the craft, and set sail myself one day. You're an inspiration, lads!

Watching you from South Wales on the Brecon and Abergavenny canal. The waves are enormous as we pass walkers, and cyclists each giving us a big wave. We have ducks big floating logs, twigs and the odd beetle very similar to where you are. No cheese though enjoy your canal and look forward to your next adventure across the pacific.

We were thinking of checking into the marina and then heading off to do some cruising while we wait. However you need to buy a cruising permit which is very expensive so we decided against it. Anyhow the Pacific Ocean is calling ⛵😁

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the lakes overnights. Panama City is also a great place to stock up with food before the Pacific! Enjoy going under the Bridge of Americas. Let’s hope the tide is up in the Pacific! 😂. Great video guys.

We didn't really enjoy staying in the lake overnight as it rained all night and everyone wanted to sleep inside the boat so there was bodies everywhere. We find the food here is pretty cheap which makes excellent provisioning. Bring on the Pacific Ocean 🌊😁

The best ‘ non sailing ‘ video you have done. It felt very real, especially with all the cash, taxi, supermarket, etc. The whole process of transiting the canal looks much more intimidating than most of your sailing! I hope you kept a few cans of Atlas beer for the line handlers ( perhaps it’s not allowed? ).

Thanks Robert, we really appreciate it mate! The whole process was pretty straightforward. You can't hire an agent to do all the paperwork and the leg work for you but we did not. Lots of research was the key. We did give some beer to the line handlers but they did not want any of it 🤔😁

So fun to watch you do what I did last year, my transit was March 25, after just two weeks in Shelter Bay marina. If you are heading to French Polynesia and beyond like I did last year, you are going to love the anchoring and adventure.

We were watching a very long time in the marina however it was a very nice Marina. It's all about the process I guess. That's the main reason why shelter Bay Marina is there for the canal Transit. Nearly time to leave for the Great Pacific crossing 🌊⛵⛵

We were a little nervous about walking around the forest in Panama as everything wants to kill you 🤣🤣 luckily no one saw us enter or leave the toilet together that would have been a bit awkward 😅. We hope you enjoy next sunday's episode going through the canal 😁

You guys are keeping it real, transiting without an agent, keeping the cost down, respectfully suggesting you call in UaPu, Marquesas as a port of entry into French Polynesia, remembering it still after 40 years as one of the most beautiful islands we ever visited, and it is very well protected, anchoring behind the breakwater. You will need some rest after 25 days at sea.

We could not afford an agent. It was quite easy sorting all the paperwork out ourselves. Not sure exactly where we are going to be landing in French Polynesia yet but it's going to be a long long time at sea. Around 4,000 nautical miles. That's about 40 to 50 plus days on this boat ⛵

@@TheSailingBrothers The trick with that passage is to sail far enough into the trades, probably to 8S before you turn right, recommending this strategy or you may get becalmed. You guys have matured as offshore sailors, knowing you will love French Polynesia, realizing how big the Pacific is by the time you get to Moorea, and you still have 60% of the way to go. I know you can do this, but you guys may not get an OBE when you return to Plymouth. The satisfaction of having circumnavigated is its own reward.

My Welsh Dragons! This is a huge milestone for you both. Congratulations 🎊 I hope you have fair winds and following seas. Fun fact; it's called the Pacific because when Magellan found it, the Sea was finally peaceful, ('pacific' means peaceful). Having lived on the Pacific for a couple of years now I can tell you confidently, Magellan was full of s**t. Good luck out there, and let me lean upon your conscience just a little harder by suggesting that you explore the west coast of America just a little longer before you zoom off to the other side of the f-ing planet. Hey Edward Thanks for the congrats. It's been a fantastic two years we have achieved so much and cannot actually believe we are in Panama. We hope the Pacific is peaceful 😀. The first parts of the cruise 1000 miles to the doldrums it's going to be tough then we should pick up the southeast tradewinds all the way. We did think about spending a season cruising up the West Coast but decided against it, sorry Edward. There's always the next time! Take care buddy 👌⛵😁

I've been through the Panama Canal 7 times the first time blew my my mind the anormaty of the experience was life changing. It is definitely the most beautiful experience of a man made structure in the world when you sit in the top lock over looking the Pacific 20 30 metres above it you realise that man cam can crate wonder of the world. Strange to watch that and have a real date and timeline. Good that you get a break in the marina even if a PIA. The costs are eye watering. I hope it all went well and i look fwd to the next update. Next Sunday we move onto our boat for the rest of the year, scary.

Yes this video was very close to real time. It was nice to have a good break in the marina while we waited for our Transit date. Unfortunately it was expensive and the canal was very expensive 😭😭 we should do the best of luck moving on board your boat ⛵

It's really good news that the food here is reasonably cheap and positioning Atlas for the Pacific crossing shouldn't cost too much money.
