Nice review, James! I got the Operation Lifesaver version myself (DC only variant) and it is a very solid model! Their rolling stock has been a little hit and miss for me, but they make excellent locomotives and put out very good sound!

Hey James! Thanks for all you do for the hobby! I enjoy your videos. Question. Is the beacon operational? Thanks.
@jlwii200010 ай бұрын
No beacon didn't light up and I didn't see an option in the function list

Weird that I am only just now seeing this video! Love me some MKT. Looks like Atlas did a better job on these than they did their N scale counterparts.

Is this the newest release where Atlas was offering a MKT slug?

Yes

I have a several Atlas Gold GP40's a UP and 2 Rio Grande's they run nicely but detail is low compared to my Genesis DRGW GP40-2 for the price. Have several older Atlas DRGW GP40's too and they will all be used behind more detailed units to make up prototypical Rio Grande lash ups..

Keep in mind the D&RGW GP40's with road numbers 3131-3154 were second hand GP40's and did not have the low nose signal light, which was a signature feature of the GP40's and GP40-2's purchased by D&RGW new. Now the old small herald GP40's should have the low nose Mars light and never came with them. They were produced over 20 years ago.
