I've done another strategy: I used the shortest route to the edges to complete as few maps as possible until I had 4 Watchstones (also buy from Kirac/Zona). Then I ran only Proxima and Ejoris-Maps and set the Watchstones only in these areas. This way I got to red maps quite quickly as the only yellow/red maps that could drop were from this two areas. I farmed those until I had all the Watchstones here. Got a few nice drops for some Exalts. All the extra Watchstones landed in another Area to get a few maps there. After finishing those I've moved the Watchstones from Proxima and Ejoris to the next areas so I'd get the high Tier map drops there and not in the completed ones. Now I was able to work on my Atlas completion in Red Maps - spending as few time as possible in White and Yellow maps.

I always had my doubts about the map system but the video cleared a lot of info to me, and it seems to me that my method was correct, but not the most correct. I'd run every map possible even past finding a watch stone, to basically make every white map completed before using the watchstone. It usually gave me a decent pool of tier 5's and from the point I started running yellows, progression would skyrocket and i'd be on a fully watchstoned atlas in no time. Really glad to see there are more efficient and safe ways of doing it, specially on later stages. Great video.

I didn't play since Legion so i am quite lost with the new Atlas. I saw 4 or 5 Atlas guide none of them talk about how to drop higher tier maps with socketed watchstone. (For example your first T4 Glacier, your first T6 etc...) Thanks dude, this is clear in my head now.

There is one small mistake I noticed. Based on my experience if you socket a watchstone into a region you don't lock the lower tiers of this region's maps from dropping. You only allow higher tiers to drop. You can still get the lower ones even with a watchstone present.

Well i understood the concept of what you are talking about but the part I don't understand is when progressing to the corner regoins I always run out of maps while trying to get the next tier in line. I feel like the map drop rate is not good, I'll go 2 or 3 maps without getting any map drops then the only choice is to run maps that are not in line. So now my atlas is all screwed up because I have a bunch of completed maps and those are the only ones dropping. Not getting any new map drops 😕

5:40 that lookout tier 4 ("upgraded" tier 1) map literally doesnt exist for me. Those "initial" tier 4 maps dont appear in my map stash tab, neither completed or uncompleted. They just arent there. And yes, I know the lookout map isnt my tier 1 map in my atlas, thats not what I mean.

Two questions about this strategy: How do you handle bad luck? I ran about 20 Lookout without a single Summit drop, that reallly hindered my progress. And after I got to the outer regions and got my first 3 Watchstones I only unlocked one Citadel at the inner regions. In this case do you run level 1 - 3 white maps on these regions to unlock the citadels or is there a better way?

I know this video is older now but if anyone checks this I have a question about efficiency. When you first make it to maps your atlast is blank except for the starting locations. How do you know what path is the quickest to the outside? Just go with the furthest map away that you find and hope its the fastest?

The location of the maps doesn't change, it's just different maps in the same spots so the path is the same. If there are any changes to the atlas in the future you'll just have to look at a picture of the atlas when it's released and analyze it

What i do is getting all WS in the corners then farm for like 20min in the corners with sirus open(unable to spawn influence) so i get a stable base of t16s then move all 16 ws from corners to middle at the same time and run corner 16s to get middle 16s thats my day 2 awakening 8 setup ssf(well trade league but not buying maps)

I am really struggling to progress in SSF, I find the map drop rates just so awful it makes it really painful to play without trading maps. Using the method in this video, making sure I have socketed correctly so there are the right tiers available to drop, I get a drop maybe 1 in 3 maps, which is totally unsustainable.

Yes of course, this is the best way to progress your atlas in SSF as you don’t have to rely on trading for maps to build up your pool quickly.

The only thing missing from this video is how to spawn the citadels. Because I've run Lookout -> Summit -> Vaal Pyramid and I defeated the conqueror but I can only socket my watchstone in the citadel where I just fought the conqueror. I don't have the citadel in Tirn's end to socket my watchstone like explain in the video.

Just run any T3 map in that region to spawn a citadel.

I finished all conquerers in one region, but I am not dropping maps in my next assigned region (with one more watch stone). I only seem to have gotten that desired map by luck. Should I be aiming to complete the highest map on the current region (example tier 13) to hopefully spawn a tier 14 in my next region? Running lower tier maps in that region will only give me higher maps in that same region.

Very good explanation. The problem I have is, I have currently 6 watchstones, two of my inner regions (Lex Proxima and Valdo Rest) don't have a citadel, how do I get the 2 citadel to spawn the conqueror, if those regions requires 1 watchstone for conqueror to spawn?

Im late but can you explain this? so when i have my first inner region filled with one watchstone, after the first conquerer kill it now says 2 stones need to be slotted, but in the video you say just farm that single watchstone until you get all 4 watchstones for said region.

I think it finally clicked after watching your video but I have a question. How long and grindy is this supposed to be? It has taken me 30 of the same T1s and T2s to finally get a single T3 in Haewark, then ofc no other Haewark maps dropped. Am I just having bad luck?

What if I fucked up early this league and did a conq in each outside area? What im saying is, is there any way to salvage a fucked up atlas? I focussed too much on atlas completion and not on the orbs.

Doing 1 conq in each of the outside regions is what you wanna do first, then you do 4x conq in one of the inside regions with 1 watchstone in it then 4x conq in another inside region with 2 watchstones etc. If you progress somewhere too far you just go back to the step you've missed and continue from there

Wait, but if you went to your first corner.. let's say top left like you said in the video and then socket the watchstone in the inner region you already went through... those T4 and 5's are not automatically unlocked.. those would be uncompleted and those outer regions I am rushing to for the other 3 watchstones to get one set so to speak.. will not drop those upgraded ones since they are not linked..?

Maps that you have completed/unlocked will always be completed/unlocked. So once you socket a watchstone and increase the tier of the maps, those that you already unlocked at a lower tier are still unlocked and can drop from appropriately tiered maps. So if you are running T4 maps in any region, T5/T6 unlocked maps from the inner region can drop there. No connection needed since they are already unlocked.

The opposite. If you don't complete a map it will never drop unless you're running something connected to it. You want to make sure that you prioritize completing the maps you want to drop first.

Look at how many watchstones you need to spawn next conqueror by hovering over the citadel, then socket that many watchstones and get maps for it, then just continue as normal

thanks for sharing the strategy there. I'm confused about one detail. You suggested to rushing into 4 corner regions to get the first 4 citadels and watchstones, which makes sense. However, when getting those 4 watchstones from the corner regions, I don't think that we have worked out in the inner region yet, so no citadels at the moment. Does that mean that, once finishing 4 corner regions, we need to get back on maps in the inner regions first and only map Lv3 maps in that region so to get the citadels shown? thank you.

@@AsmodeusClips Don't get me wrong, but I'm totally a fan of your strategy. Just when I followed the strategy, I only got one Lv1 map and one Lv2 map done before reaching the one outer region. Then I worked on and get the first watchstone in the outer region but no the citadel in the inner region at the moment. I heard other streamers talking about this strategy as well, all said, for the first watchstone, running less map in the inside region. If so, I don't see how you get the citadel inner region at the same time when you try to get the first 4 stones in the outer regions.

You're expected to have to run more maps before reaching the corner regions, so just continue running maps connected to a t3 in that inner region or move on to another inner region and get a citadel there while progressing to another corner. Your problem is that your progression was too fast? That's not a problem.

It's best to get 4 watchstones from an inner region before moving to another one. That gives you more time to prepare your map pool for the next region.

Before that, I met the npc in the void - there was the altar but nothing happens when you click on it(when you discover the thingy in which you put in the watchstones)

All you need is 1-2 t8 maps for a 2 watchstone inner region, juice them with whatever you have and you can continue with the strat

@@aildcore At that point, you buy the yellow maps from Zana. When they are all bought out, then activate a map with a Zana master mission which will instantly restock Zana's inventory so you can purchase more yellow maps. Repeat this as many times as you need.
