Just a quick comment to supplement this strategy: When you start running red maps (so after you start running maps in regions with 3 or more watchstones socketed), it's best to start boosting atlas completion bonus and awakener level as much as you can to help out with sustain. There are two parts to this. First, you want to start running all uncompleted maps that are lower than the lowest tier map in your current target region. At the 3-watchstone step, that means freely running anything tier 9 and lower for extra map completion. At the 4-watchstone step, that means running anything tier 13 or lower. Additionally, you can safely socket any number of watchstones in other regions to increase your atlas bonus as long as you aren't introducing too many new maps that overlap with either your current or target region. Due to how much overlap there is in map tiers between 2 and 3 watchstone inner-regions, it's best not to do this until you're working on the fourth inner region. At that point (and through until the end of the rotation) you can socket up to 3 watchstones in any inner region or up to 2 watchstones in any outer region. This will increase your awakening level and enable you to earn awakening bonus, but more importantly, any map that fails to drop at tier 14 or higher can yield uncompleted maps from these regions. You can run these maps to boost your atlas bonus and make it easier to get drops in your target regions. This is a very good breakdown of the strategy though, good job!

Amazing video. Really easy to comprehend and follow! 2 questions: 1) Do you (typically) need to juice your maps (other than alch and go) even on low tiers in order to self-sustain? 2) When working on step 8, can the conqueror that spawned at step 1 spawn again at the same region and mess up the cycle?
@Dooministry3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for that. Here's the answers to your questions. 1. I usually alc and go for white and yellow maps, then start chiseling and vaaling on red maps. Because this strategy advances you so fast in the atlas, map sustain can sometimes be an issue, so sometimes you have to farm the maps you've done already a bit to get the drops. 2. Yes that is possible to spawn the same conqueror again. However, it will always spawn the unspawned conquerors first (if possible), which means it won't spawn one you've done already until you have killed the unspawned ones in the zone. Once you've done that make sure you don't spawn another conqueror there or it will spawn one that you've completed and mess up your cycle. I hope that makes sense.
@Stagonas3 жыл бұрын
@@Dooministry Thank you for the clarifications. I asked the first question because a friend of mine just started this strategy but he had already gathered 9 watchstones from random mapping (of which some he removed to be in line with step 5) and he's telling me he's experiencing very low map drops. Maybe it's because he sometimes runs fewer maps since he already has 1-2 watchstones in some regions. Anyway, I just started leapfrogging as well on a fresh atlas so I'll see for myself. Thanks again for both the video guide and your answers!
@AldonxFacts3 жыл бұрын
love the video. very easy to understand and well-informed guide..thank you sir! :)
@reznovvazileski31933 жыл бұрын
I see :') This is definitely faster than randomly doing it lol. Even knowing how the atlas works so I'm never truly running out of maps to run towards a conqueror, and how to not brick a cycle by spawning a conqueror where it's completed already, AND never spawning a conqueror that would lock out another region from spawning its last possible conqueror which is a risk you run if you're not careful with a multi-region strategy :P Basically how I used to do it is this idea with the socketing the next region ahead of time to collect maps but I'd go back and forth between inner and outer regions all 4 at once. It works just as well for the systematic part of it, but the slowness really is in the indecisiveness of your next move. The Leapfrog method really is clear about what maps to run at which time while with 4 regions at a time no matter how safe the atlas is, you'll always be checking 4 times as many regions for maps to run and trying to decide which one to do now. It takes a lot of time to constantly make new plans and scramble all the maps together to set up the next session of runs so knowing how to do it 1 by 1 properly really does help a lot as far as time is concerned :')

I've always valued objective completion over watchstones count, but I have a question for people who follow the strategy in this video: does your map sustain not suffer? Do you ever burn through your high tier map pool and get forced to start over?
@jamiej52293 жыл бұрын
yes and it is annoying af. plus - if you do any map in the wrong region(because you run out of maps) it can spawn a conquerer where you dont want to have him and the whole strat is f'ed. but i think the poor map sustain is a 3.15 problem, last league i had tons of maps.

i'm running maps in Glennach cairns, but i'm not getting drops for the maps in the next region which is Valdo's rest. If i'm not mistaken, from what i've been reading, choosing the first region to start socketing the watchstones is indeed fixed, and should be: First Valdo's rest, second Lex proxima, third Tirn's end and fourth Glennach cairns. Now i messed up my whole atlas progression. Feelssadgeman.
@Dooministry3 жыл бұрын
Hey Richie, sorry to hear that it's not working that well for you right now. Where you start for the inner regions does not matter. For example I did not start in Valdo's and it worked fine. The only thing you have to be cognizant about is that your map drops are obeying the drop rules. For example if you are running T6 maps, and are collecting maps for the next region with 1 more watchstone, you can only drop up to T8 maps. In other words if you are looking for a T9 map, it will never drop from T6's. If you are unclear about the drop rules you can check out my other atlas video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHjOZq14f7qSiMU

super helpful video - thank you! quick question: what’s the reason for unsocketing watchstones after finishing the conquerors in each region, instead of leaving them in?

Hey thanks. The reason for unsocketing watchstones after finishing is so that you don't drop the maps in that region anymore (since you don't need them anymore), which will increase the drops of the maps you need in the regions that you are working on.

12:15 Actually, a bit easier way to do the outer regions would be first, put watchstones in as many outer regions as you can, get 1-3 maps for each. Once you reach 3/4 watchstones for the final inner region, look what the color is and pick the outer region that has the OTHER 3 watchstones still unobtained. Now you're 100% sure you won't get that conc there. Another way is when you do the first outer region and get the first conc, swap to another outer region which already has the conc you just got in the first outer region.

Ya one tough thing about running an aggressive atlas progression strategy (which this is, getting to as high tier as possible in as few maps as possible), is that it's hard to keep that high tier map pool going. Sometimes you have to rerun maps to get those drops, but also make sure the maps that you are looking for can actually drop from the maps you are running as per the map drop rules. Sometimes it's just not even possible to drop the maps you're looking for if the tier of the map you're running is too low.

That is telling you the number of watchstones you need to socket in to the region to spawn the conqueror there. You must meet the requirement in order to spawn them. Hope that helps.
@Fungorrr3 жыл бұрын
i still do not understand the rules for what determines which maps can spawn from a given node. atlas bonus gives you a chance for a higher tier map to spawn then it's about what maps are attached by a dotted line to the one you are running then it's also about what region is physically adjacent to the map you are running? because of this lack of understanding, i've finished 4 conquerors on one watchstone, then when i get to the two watchstone region i do not have enough maps to run the 2 watchstone region

Followed this up to the 1st inner region. I have 1 watchstone in Proxima and 2 in Valdo's. I've been running T6-7 maps and have killed 3 conquerors in Proxima so far but I've only gotten 2 Valdo's maps in the process, and I think one of them was from temple. Why isn't my Valdo's pool bigger at this point? What sort of quant should I be aiming for on these maps?
@Dooministry3 жыл бұрын
Hey it might be because the maps you have available to drop in Valdo's are outside of the drop rules for the atlas. When you run a map, only the same tier and below can drop from white monsters, +1 from magic and rare packs and +2 from boss. So for example if you are running T6 maps, and in Valdo's all of the maps available to drop are T9, then you won't be able to drop them. To correct this you can complete some more lower tier maps in valdos without any watchstones in, so that they are lower tier when you socket 2 watchstones. Hope this answers your question.
@Warfalcon3 жыл бұрын
I'm a little late to this video and already about 8 or so watchstones in. Is there any reason I shouldn't stick 3 in say Lex Prox & Lira Arth while I have 2 in Valdo and working Valdo? @Dooministry3 жыл бұрын
Yup that's not a problem. The reason you want to only do 1 zone with 3 watchstones at a time is to target farm those maps, but if you're already a bit of a mixed bag then that is a great way to get the maps you need for the particular zones. Cheers
