the whole "people living in tunnels under the city" thing reminds me of how some of the homeless people in Las Vegas (estimates range from about 500 to 1,500 people) live in the underground flood tunnels (this sounds like an urban legend but it's actually demonstrably true. it's because the city is so hot that if they lived outside above ground they'd literally die. when it does actually flood they have to try to get out fast enough to not drown.)

Just an FYI, that girl was your one party member, so when the monster attacks you your party member takes the first hit and dies, leaving just you alone. All the other named people in the intro are potential party members as well.

With the way the character sprites pop up for dialogue, this feels like it's a (technically) early 3D game that's still working with a 2D design ethos. Also just makes me thing of the issue with some older games at this point that really could do with a note saying what your objective even is lol.

I played this game when I was a kid as a pirated copy I bought, I think in japan is called Dark Messiah (which made me confused with the Might and Magic game) Everything about this game its creepy, the first person perspective, the fact that you're being constantly chased, I had the Japanesse version and I couldnt figure out what the hell to do, pretty interesting concept which nowadays has been perfected in games like outlast.

Kinda smells like Baroque. The OG one, not the PS2 anime remake. All and all, these obscure PS1/PS2 era horror games are something else. You literally cannot make a game like this anymore.
