So we now know the stakes of this tournament. The two leading competitors have their own ideals that would taken to great extremes if either becomes king. Forden is the leading representative of the religion that created the notion of "superior" and "lesser" races and therefore is responsible for the now rampant discrimination and abuse of the "lesser" races. Louis is a ambitious military man who would eliminate members of the royal family to achieve his goals. So basically no matter who wins the kingdom will be forever changed for the worst. If Forden wins the kingdom will become a place where "superior" races rule over everything while the "lesser" races are their livestock/slaves. And if Louis wins the kingdom will become a militarized dictatorship. The protagonist's main goal may be to save the prince but it's also good to think that he's also preventing these two extremists from taking the throne and transforming the kingdom based on their warped ideals.

I love this. This is Law vs Chaos in a unique fantasy setting. The Travelling Boy represents the Neutral dreamer ending and that's why this will be Atlus' anniversary game. This will be a masterpiece.

I have spent almost a 100 hours on SMT5: Vengeance and have beat Persona 5 a couple years back, if this game is a good mix of both of them while pushing the Atlus JRPG style forward then it's going to be a genuine masterpiece.

@@kristof910k I have played P3 Portable and P4G too but as enjoyable as the social aspects (Hell, I'd go as far as saying P4G has superior and more natural slice of life scenes than P5) of those games were, I found the dungeon crawling atrocious so I have quit both games about the halfway point. P5 luckily had very well crafted custom dungeons, and SMT5 is a different beast entirely with maybe some of my favorite combat/exploration in a JRPG, but the ~3 dungeons in it were quite lacking too sadly.

As a general rule of thumb, non-background characters who have at least one positive interaction with each other (context and subtext be damned) will likely be shipping fodder. Shipping intensity increases with more interactions (mainly but not always positive) and screen presence. Both of these characters were described as childhood friends and are critically important to the story (one as the MC, the other as a living inciting incident). So outside of the main party the prince will likely be the MC's most frequently shipped partner.

Yea, it feels like Atlus decided ti just rip and tear their past IPs into the new one. Lucifer as the main villain(on surface), Door-kun as MC, pixie redesin as first companion, personas but with SMT combat, slightly altered social links... like, really, world is the most(and only) unique thing here from what I've seen.

No dude, it gonna comes out a full experience with complete story just like p5 did, p5 the original was a complete experience and it even won rpg of the year, these enhanced Verisons are NOT the complete version they are basically if the game succeed, it another opportunity for them to improve and add more content, but on release they always release a complete Verison with like 100 hours of gameplay.

So, you already played the game and know that there will be no plot twist or you are taking everything they're showing you at face value. Also, you are assuming that the protagonist is a nobody when it explicitly says in the video that he and the cursed prince were best friends and even if that were true, only with this video we are obviously lacking a lot of context.
