Saw Nick and Rachels video that you were in at Yonah so checking out your videos. Have only Hiked to McDill Point on Cave Creek Trail loop in Cheaha. Beautiful view especially in the fall. At about 8 min into the video you cross a creek and then you say you’ve done about 18 miles. Can you tell me what trail your on? Also if you haven’t been to The Walls of Jericho on the Alabama/Tenn line, it’s a must do!

Hello and welcome to the channel. We started at Turnipseed Camp and then hiked up the backside of Stairway to Heaven. From there, we jumped on the Pinhoti Trail into Adams Gap. In short, we took the Pinhoti Trail, Chinnabee Silent Trail, and Skyway Loop Trail to make up the 18 mile loop. Have not hiked to McDill Point, but definitely on my list for 2022. Also looking into the Walls of Jericho trip as it looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for watching and hopefully you will stay connected for more hikes in 2022!

@@MetroOnTheMove thanks! Did the Walls of Jericho hike after a good rain so that made the waterfalls really nice. Not a strenuous hike except for climbing up to go to the back falls and the elevation gain/climb out to the Alabama trailhead. We took the Tennessee trail down into the Walls and the Bama out. Best of both worlds. The trailheads are about 2 miles apart but we were able to leave a car to shuttle. It’s a great hike. Planning a trip up to LeConte again in June and then hoping for Yonah in the fall. Keep hiking!

@MetroOnTheMove2 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen! Thanks for reaching out! The name of the water filter is the Grayl Ultrapress. It is perfect because it removes viruses and bacteria among other things. I think it makes the water taste better because of the charcoal filter. Was able to live off the gummy worms but ended up eating everything in sight that night. Thanks for the support my friend!

What kind of a day pack do you use? I have started using a turkey hunting vest for my day hikes. Think about it... they have TONS of pockets in the front to keep all of your gadgets in quick reach. You can reach and grab most anything without having to stop and take your pack off and dig through. It also has a large "game pouch" in the back that you can carry larger items such as rain gear, etc. So far, I am really enjoying using it. I am thinking that one of these pack companies should start making a backpacking version of this vest out of a little lighter material.
@MetroOnTheMove Жыл бұрын
I use the Waymark Mile for my daypack. There is a large stretch pocket in the front for my quick grab items and plenty of space on the inside for a tarp and other items I might take. I am not a fan of having too much stuff on the straps. The vest is a cool idea.
@mountainsnmoore256 Жыл бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove Yeah, things swinging around in my field of vision drives me crazy. The vest works pretty good. Going to get it back out tomorrow for a short hike close to home tomorrow. Hoping for some cool views. May shoot a short little video about using the vest.
