Thank you my friend! This week, I took my father to Akers Mill Trailhead which runs along this area where the jumping rock is. We had lunch by the river and then hiked the trail along the river. He loves going back to places where we went over 30 years ago. Good times!

He loved it out there! 9 Miles was a little much for him but he loved every minute of being on the water. So many cool spots to check out in this section. Thanks for watching and the comment!

Awesome yak trip with your dad. I need to get my yaks out for a paddle soon! Got a new car so trying to get use to putting them up on the new rack set up. I need a better camera setup. You would laugh if you saw how I had it jimmied up in the front of my yak. Its a hot mess! Another great video Metro!

This was the run of the season and it’s getting hot out there in Georgia! Trying to upgrade my ride to a Tacoma so will be easier to get yaks in the back. I use the Yakima Jaylow systems and it’s easy to throw them on the rack. For the camera system, I mounted a GoPro adhesive mount to the top of the yak and use a jaws mount from GoPro set up for the camera and it works great on the river and on trail. Thanks for watching and the kind words my friend! Cheers!

Someday I'll have to have you take me out. I've kayaked twice in my life in glassy lake water. This was cool bud!

Will do! This river is just a few minutes from my home and I am always out in this area. Can show you some cool spots all along this river my friend!

Just subscribed after watching a few of your vids over the past few weeks. I live right off Powers Ferry, know exactly the spot y'all floated by. Great seeing you out there w/your Dad!

Thank you my friend and I appreciate your support! My dad was super stoked to get back out there. At 70, he was a trooper to paddle 9 miles. Felt bad as at the end, he fell in the water and fried his iphone. I have taken him on a few adventures now, and he loves to get there when he can. This is such a great section of the river and we are always out there in some fashion. Love Interstate North for weekend hikes and such if we can't make it to the mountains. Thanks for watching and the support!

Super cool that you and your Pops got out and had some fun together. If you ever come to Florida, hit me up, and we can explore some crystal clear springs. Citrus County is home to some of the best paddles on the west coast of Florida. Love the video and once again loved seeing you with your Dad having fun!

Will do my friend! Would love to check out more of what Florida has to paddle! This weekend, I took my father back to the trails along the river in this area and had lunch by the jumping rock. He loves the fact that he brought us to this point over 30 years ago.

Pretty sure there was a gator living in that stretch of river about 10 years ago. Nice video! Like the kayaking ones.

I knew it! River gators are real. Had to get some water action in as the warmer months are here in GA! This was a great experience to share with my Dad as he had never paddled this area before. Thanks for watching and the comment! Cheers

Yup, we are totally doing this. We don't do white water much, but this looks like Class II? Didn't look too crazy, but not easy where you can just float LOL

We saw an eagle 🦅 in this area last year in the 4th of July! Less traffic on the river from Morgan Falls to Powers Island. Not too crazy except for a few areas but should be fine. Just make sure to bring a PFD for each kayak as they are required in this area.
@MagellanandGreyhound3 жыл бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove too easy. We always wear one and store an emergency one in the kayak.

That was pretty neat. Looks like y'all had a good time. I have some memories o the Chattahoochee from when I lived in Ga. as a kid, but it was a lot slower river I think. Enjoyed watching the vid. Bet you and dad had a good day

Thank you Karl! My Dad was stoked to get back out there after five years. The river current changes depending on the time of day due to the dam and what section you are in. On this trip, the water was up and definitely moving in some areas. Thanks for watching and the comment my friend! Cheers

Thank you my friend! This river is only a few miles from my house, so I am out there pretty often. Definitely worth getting a Kayak. The only downside is storing it which takes up a lot of space in the back yard/deck area. Other than that, worth every penny! Thanks for watching and the support!

It’s roughly 9 miles and it took about 4 hours when we went. That day, the wind was blowing against us so it took longer than expected to arrive. You can always start at Johnson ferry north or powers island if you want to shorten. Thanks for watching and the support of the channel. Cheers!
