Its also outstanding fishing in that are too, especially for trout if its above Morgan Falls Dam

Agreed! Do you eat the trout or just catch and release?
@br1ooksmith1044 ай бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove we have eaten trout in that area in the past. I know this year the DNR has a warning about pollution in the river, so I'm not 100% sure if they're safe to eat right now. That aside, I'd rate it as the best trout river I've ever fished on. But to answer your question, we mostly catch and release. We never keep the brown trout, no matter what size they are. They're all wild fish, and some of them get pretty darn big, especially in the lower sections around Abbotts Bridge and Jones Bridge. But that river is LOADED full of trout. Once you get on one, usually you'll wear them out in one particular area.

Within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, most of the river sections are very calm. There is only a few places where it picks up. It was awesome to see the Bald Eagle fly overhead. You can rent Kayaks and Tubes at Johnson Ferry North and Powers Island in season. Thanks for watching and the kind words! Cheers

Drone shot would have epic watching ot from above as well my man ..i will keep doing this until i see the drone shots lol...But i went hiking yesterday and making video today on ..when i got to the spot it was very windy ..first thing i thought about was YOU saying how windy it was in your last video..but ..at the top it was still windy but get some great footage it did well in the wind so look to that video..see what you think..keep up the adventures !

I know, the drone would be nice but in some areas like this they don't allow it. We saw a bald eagle in one section and I imagine that they don't want a drone to bother their habitat. Will check out your video now. Cheers my friend!

Johnson ferry to powers ferry is pretty lite. There are put in ramps and take out points at these locations.

Was going to recommend the Chestatee, but see you already got a video on it. If you're looking for a bit more rapid action, try the Cartecay in Elijay or section 3 of the Chattahoochee by Lula.

Nice outing. Never been down this river but it looks pretty straight forward. Do the rapids get much bigger in other parts of the river?
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
There are only a few sets of rapids in this area. Mainly forwards the end of the trip. Very chill for several miles but lots of wildlife.

Just moved up to this area. Is it fine to anchor up along this stretch? Also what about turning and paddling back up?
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of people who fish and stay anchored in this area. I have seen people paddling against the current but it doesn't look like too much fun. This area can get packed on the weekends but Morgan Falls Dam to Johnson Ferry North is normally pretty quiet. Thanks for watching!

We are considering getting into kayaking. Have you ever tried inflatable kayaks? Looks like a great paddle - amazing way to spend a day! 😀
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
TerryX2Explore my father picked one up but is yet to try it out. Here are my thoughts based on kayaking in shallow and rocky areas. You will eventually drag your boat and run into rocks. Our boats have so many scratches from over the years but they lasted mainly due to the materials they are made of. I use a perception jazz kayak and picked it up for around $300 or so. Pelican brand are lighter but the plastic is thinner. Also, keep in mind you will also need to get PDF and paddle as most kayaks don’t come with the boat. If this is just a one off then go with the inflatable but if you are going out on a regular basis then definitely get a hard body. I like the sit on top versus sit in as it is easy to get in and out and is hard to sink.

To find the put in spot on gps would I just put a n Morgan falls?
@MetroOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
That should work. When you get to Morgan Falls, there is a road that splits to the left which leads to the correct side of the dam to head down the river. The put in point is past the dog park. You can't miss it. Hope you have fun out there!

Not gonna lie, its not as cool as this video, but low-key reminds me of when I took an inflatable unicorn down some small waterfalls. Whenever I have the time to do that again I should get some footage of it haha. Great video I enjoy seeing your journeys! No joke tho I would be waaaaay to paranoid about going into Georgia waters cuz I am terrified of gators. Like I know they scared of us too but that bite force aint nothing to fuck with. Props to you for having the guts to go out there. I know I be a wuss but at least I'm a gator bite free wuss lol.
