On twitter, he did a post asking users to reply with screenshots of their game and a link to the download page. About 40ish(?) people responded and he picked 5 to play. Not sure what his selection method was, but he picked my game dragonpaw for whatever reason!

For the devs watching this, these strawpoll scores aren't exactly reflective of steam scores; steam store pages tend to filter out those who aren't interested enough to pay for a game to review it, as opposed to the polls, where anybody can vote even if they just don't like the look of it. For example, those who see dragon paw's steam page, and still purchase it despite the aesthetics, would probably review it much higher than the straw poll did.

As the slopmeister who created dragonpaw, these are my thoughts exactly. DP was never supposed to be for everyone, and im (pleasantly) shocked that 3/4ths of such a general audience were charmed by such a niche game, ESPECIALLY considering Thomas was playing a build with a framerate glitch that makes the whole thing run at 2x speed on a handful of very strong computers (my bad). Def going to be adding "fast forward mode" as a feature now, I think some people might PREFER their jrpgs sped up

Ok here's my thing about games like Blood Rush.... honestly it's tiring seeing these games that just copy each other with a different aesthetic and hardly any real uniqueness. Sure, Blood Rush has promise in terms of smooth gameplay eventually but....how many of these exact type of games have we seen already? There's no actual hook, it's just taking from other similar games but in a new visual environment. It's boring to me, as a gamer and as a developer. Something like Blood Rush would be better off, imo, turning that kind of game on it's head by flipping expectations with a totally different mechanic we don't usually see. Adding a dating sim element would be pretty weird, right? It would but what if you could flirt up companions and they also get abilities. That's a very out of the box approach but imo, if you are just copying and pasting, that's how you stand out. I've played Blood Rush already and yet, I haven't played it yet. That's not good.

42:30 Nothing wrong about using Megascans, even the Horror engine... problem is when it is not optimized and this looked liked it was all glued together in 5minutes. I could even live with the "artistic" vision that the game wants to be too philosophical/poetic.. there is market for that. But you need to have talent to do that. Not ChatGPT generated text. The dev cube at start was just cherry on the top. I agree with the rest of the critique
