+Gene Roll Yes the flame can be set low enough to simmer. I no longer produce these kits but you may be able to find a stove and have a simpler version of my kit custom built by a metal fab shop. when I use red kerosene I would clog up the wick . do you have k1 available?

I never looked specifically for K1. We have used the kero with red dye added and didn't notice a problem.

Propane is a lot simpler and cleaner cheaper

Propane or any LPG on a boat, what could possibly go wrong? There are lots of kerosene or Diesel cookers and heaters for boats for a reason.
