This is my first attempt at the FW2.2 shoot. Unfortunately the camera on me was out of focus so I held it back, but upon review I realised that there are some sounds here that were not demoed in my second attempt. So here it is.. :)

This is an update from my video of 2015 (see: • Atomic Amps: Amplifire ). Amplifire firmware, system and editor software has enjoyed substantial upgrades since.
The Atomic Amplifire is a very portable, capable and relatively affordable modelling solution that should be considered when shopping for your stage or studio needs. It sounds great, is easy to use and won't break the bank. That's three wins, I reckon.
For the record these latest Amplifire videos were unsolicited by Atomic or anyone associated with them. I simply felt that the firmware had come a long way and decided to do them for fun and to help them spread the (very good) word.
Guitar: Jim Root Telecaster with SD JB/Jazz pickups and Fender S1 switching system.
Amp: Atomic Amplifire/Studio Devil models
Cables: Providence
Power Supply: Supplied
Mic: Samson Airline77 (me)
Camera: Canon 60D (me) and iPhone 6+ (pedal)
Soundcard: AVID Mbox Pro 3
Computer: Apple iMac 27" i7 3.4 GHz 16 GB RAM
Software: Pro Tools 12.4, Waves L3-16 Limiter (to keep levels in check at output), Apple Final Cut Pro X (video editing and KZbin compression).

Great demo. I love my Amplifire. It is a pro level modeller, with depth and detail. It reacts to picking and guitar volume the way a valve amp does.

+NoyzyBoyZ3 I've never tried an AxeFX. There have been examples of people moving from AxeFX and Line 6 Helix to Amplifire on the AF Facebook group because of its sound. I've no intention of seeking out a new modeller now.

+Simon Baker You ever tried running a bass through the Amplifire? I'm on the fence about getting one. I mean, I'm a guitarist, but I'd love a do-it-all box for home recording. I love the guitar tones that thing makes, but I also want to be able to track good bass tones for my recordings as well. If the Amplifire can't do both and I had to buy a separate piece of hardware for bass, I'm thinking I might be better off just graduating to the AX8/Helix level, since they do both, but if I could get away with Amplifire handling everything for half the price, that seems to be the way to go.

+Mr. Brandon there aren't any bass amps in the current v2.20 firmware. It has been strongly suggested that there is going to be an Ampeg SVT model in the upcoming firmware release, but there's no official confirmation of this. On a side note to this, I had one gig on bass last year, I bought a Behringer BDI 21 pedal (clone of Tech21 bass preamp) for £29. That thing sounds amazing considering the price.

Simon Baker Interesting, thanks for the info. I hope that rumor winds up true. I guess I'll hold off for a while and see what develops with their updates. I think they might be out of stock anyway, so I wouldn't be able to get one even if I wanted to, hah.

Yep, worth every cent! I love that modulation stationing. This is a very nice piece of work mate, oh the focus is no issue at all, thanks for throwing the previous session to us. I think amplifire is imprinted on the back of my brain.

5150 modern is my favorite. I take out delay etc. I don't like a lot of fx. A bit of reverb or compression maybe but rarely.

+NoyzyBoyZ3 Yep. You could jack the AmpliFire straight into the BluGuitar's FX Return, bypassing its preamp and using its power section only - which is what you'd want.

+NoyzyBoyZ3 I'd forget the BluGuitar and go straight to the PA and some monitors. The BluGuitar is basically a floor based guitar amp head - a different thing again.

How does this unit compares with Axefx II, amp models wise?

For the Money this unit is the best bang for the buck out there! The amp models are up there with AXE FX II as many owners of both have admitted.:)

Amplfire has many less models and effects, but quality-wise I'd say the Axe FX II is only marginally better (in my experience). It takes pedals great so you can just get your own for the effects it doesn't have and it works perfectly.

Velhos Novos go to their website and just order it. Or they're are some used ones. Id go with new in case u want to return it. FYI if u r using it in ur fx loop I know it goes against every rule in the books but keep the cab on. I've been thru kempers, line 6 I'm telling u it sounds better that way. It's really good. Tweak it to ur desire. And u won't spend all day tweaking either. Good luck.
