Do it! Garage door opener buttons are something you use every day, so dress them up and make them fun! Also, we can't recommend lighted buttons enough. They are stupidly helpful.

@@AtomicDairy found some custom Ghostbusters arcade buttons on eBay. But they are $30. Looking for a cheaper option. I'm excited.

Where did you get the two red LED's?

The original LEDs were 2V lights...what voltage did the replacement LEDs take and how did you manage the correct voltage from the house wiring? EDIT: I just heard the bit about the resistor you put in. Would love to know what voltage the new LEDs take and what resistor you used.

We used an old 9v transformer because that is what we had available and because the wire runs on this project are a bit long between the house and garage. The resistors are 330 ohm. We usually under-drive the LEDs a bit to extend their lives.
