I am so glad to know I wasn't crazy when trying to monitor with the Ninja V using the Phantom Luts. It was always broken! Would you know if it is possible to implement into the LUT itself a workaround to the Ninja V Video to Full?

Hi. Thank you for the video! It's good to know how to work around this terrible bug. I have two questions: - can you link the LUTs you are using in the tutorial (I found Leaming LUTs and Joel Farmularo LUTs, but I am not sure what you used for Exposure Conversion). - I read some comments and understood that now there are also some LUTs to monitor properly Slog3 directly on the Ninja V (I suppose with a pre conversion from Full to Legal levels), is this correct? Thank you again! 🙏

Ok so i think this is whats happening to me right now. I dont have a Ninja V, I got a Shinobi today so I took luts i made for certain scenes I use like talking heads I use on a different channel I run, put it in the Shinobi and it was VERY close to how it SHOULD look...but it wasnt. My face looked like 2-3 stops over exposed and my shadows looked 2-3 stops UNDER exposed and im like "huh......whhhyyyyyy does it look like this?" I guess this is why

Downside to PQ mode being that you have to use the screen at 100% brightness - so battery life is poor. But then again PQ mode defeats the point of wanting to monitor with a LUT - for that specific look/feel.

Great video, do you know if any firmware updates have fixed this yet? It's been a little over 6 months. Also for this scenario would a lut combiner fix the issue if you wanted to monitor? Essentially adding a full to legal lut, follwed by the desired lut? Saw someone suggesting that online.

Not fixed as far as I know. Paul Leeming has a range fix lut on his website.

Also I'm curious how editing on an oled tv works? I recently got an LG C1 which probably has pretty solid color coverage (need to check). If you have a req709 timeline, are there any consideration to be aware of if editing on an oled?

It's way better than using any other kind of monitor, but not practical if you want to use it to create HDR video.

media infor is right, the color space is rec709 this is even stated in the camera manual ( that nobody reads) look it up only venice / sony f55 has true sgamut, sry to ruin your day also, that's why the lut may appear broken as well

this actually makes a ton of sense. I think Sony even states A6000s, the A7III, AS7III and A74 aswell dont have have true sgamut which surprises me not many people know about this

I followed your video all the way up to a single point I know you went a route you shouldn't have went. You should have done a CST. if its R.709, make your first node a CST input R.709 and Linear, and output to SLOG3/SGamaut3, and your last node another CST from SLOG3, back to R.709. Just did that and it looks exactly how it should
