AtomRC Dolphin - 6S -FASTEST ON YOUTUBE

The aim of this build was to build the fastest dolphin on youtube. What i have created is an absolute missile. Lots of different cameras and camera angles use to create this video. Love your video. I just upgraded my dolphin to a 28mm motor. Im also running 6s. My previous top speed has been 109mph. Super cool video, now i cant wait to remaiden mine and see what she will do

Another good one “A” ! I have two ZOHD’s to maiden a Dart V2 XLE, fitted with the good old vector, and a Talon GT rebel fitted with Inav. Just can’t get the weather needed as it’s either too wet or windy when the flying field is available for flying! 👍👍👍

Hi Brian, yes I know the feeling. The weather here has been very changeable but hopefully it will make a change for the better shortly. The vector was and still is a great fc but unfortunately discontinued. Thanks for the comment 👍

@@torquedude I went with white. I was thinking it would be easier to see in the air and be cooler temp wise. The more videos I watch though the less I believe white would be easier to see, especially if there are any clouds. That being said, I wont be flying LOS so it’s probably ok.

@@toastedmangoflight nice! I can honestly say it’s one of my best flying FPV planes. Just be careful when launching in nil wind conditions. You can see mine dip the wing and then straighten one it gets airspeed but if you have some wind they launch perfectly.👍👍👍

I want to order one but I don’t know what remote I need to purchase I want the latest DJI goggles are those compatible with the stock camera

Michaelrothman4602, thanks for your comment. The buying options unfortunately do not come with video transmitter or radio receiver. You will need to purchase them separately. The dji goggles along with the 03 air unit is a great setup for your video and a lot of people are using the T16 radio for their rc controller. Hope this helps. Welcome to the channel…..Rotor Flex

I have an 8s 80A APD esc in my dolphin. Running 8s with a 2806.5 1850kv and a 7x4 prop the highest speed I ever achieved was 198kmh

Hello, how long can you usually get per flight?

With my 5000mah battery pack I can get about 20/25 mins depending on how I fly. I have seen some people double up on battery packs and getting around 40 mins

Did you change the elektronics to run 6s? (I am an fpv drone guy and just have a looot of 6s batteries but no 4s and i really dont wanna spend money on 4s batteries)

Hey paparambo2557, all you need to change is the motor and esc. The flight controller that comes in the PNP kit will accept up to 6s so your good to go 👍👍

Hi dronepilot260rc, top speed is 223KPH ( 139mph ). I have made some more modifications via the prop and will try for a faster top speed once the weather settles. Thanks for the comment

EnglishTurbines, your 100% correct. I believe it was pitched as a speedy fpv platform for around 100mph. Myself coming form a hotliner background it’s not fast in my books but definitely raises the adrenaline level flying 10ft of the ground full throttle fpv. Do you fly Turbines going by you name? @@torquedude I'm a retired Engineer, I made my own Gas Turbine..😏...I also do FPV on my Channel. I have a Dolphin in box waiting for build. It's one of the better Chinese wings. Most of them are frankly terrible in terms of design and flying....😀🇬🇧

EnglishTurbines, that’s amazing. We have a guy in our club who has done the same using an oil filter housing, ceramic bearings and hypodermic needles for the flame ring. I believe he bought the compressor stages but machined his own main shaft. I’ve just subbed to your channel as it good to follow people with the same interests. My engineering background is electrical/mechanical so the perfect balance for RC. Again thanks for commenting 👍👍

Hi JLFPV, it’s at the start of the video, FIVE33 2207 2070KV Champions Edition Motor, apd f3x 100 amp esc. A lot of air frame modes to clean up the drag (coming up in the next video).

@torquedude awesome! I want one I have a spare 2806.5 2300kv for 6s and 7" prop or 2306 2450kv 4s-5s for 5" prop idk which would be better for the dolphin... I've seen both do well.

@@JLfpv it all depends what you want from the airframe, high kv motor - small prop with heavy pitch will give you the highest top speed but at the cost of reliability. Small kv - large prop with light pitch will give you a reliable setup that you can trust for long flights. I have found the small props cause less torque roll during take off but take longer to get air speed up due to the prop stalling at low speeds. The larger prop will give more torque roll but get your plane away faster👍

@torquedude I was thinking the 2806.5 1300kv 7" would get me close to if not over 100mph top speed and hopefully higher cruising speed at 5amp draw. I've hear that's a good efficiency rule. It's good if you can get over 50mph at 5 amps or less? I fly quads so wings are gonna be a new beast

Hey Jeff, thanks for the call out on your channel. I will do another video to capture the top speed on the OSD rather than the end screen. Unlucky with you top speed quest. May i suggest removing all the extra drag attached to your airframe. Also what is your take off altitude as my flying site is at sea level meaning there is probably a difference in air density.

I'm at 600ft above sea level, so probably no difference in guessing. By the way, I'm not mad or anything, and it's all in good fun. I will say your video production looks amazing! But, if you can post up a response to my response video with that speed (I don't think it's possible with that setup), then I will officially apologize on my channel and eat a dirty sock.
