Very clean! Are those scoop and vent designs on Thingyverse?
@grim-upnorth2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, no I havent uploaded them yet. I'll get around to it at some point. I have so many designs on my hard drive, I always forget to put them on thingiverse lol 🤣

Thank you. My aim was to have no traditional antenna protrusions and I'm happy with the result 👍🏻

Hi CharlieRC, Nicely done, What kind of antenna and connector are you using with the vista?
@grim-upnorth2 жыл бұрын
It's the menace rc aeropod antenna 👍🏻
@patricehonvault26122 жыл бұрын
@@grim-upnorth Thank you CharlieRC, I imagine it's the LHCP version, what type of cable used between the menace rc aeropod and the vista?

Do you have to put your Batt (a small batt at that) in the rear compartment to make CG? I plan to extend the motor on stand-offs & its a heavier T-Motor 2310 2200kv but even so, seems I may struggle to put a 3300 or 2x1800 4S up front and make CG. Have to play around with it to see what I can do when I get it.

If you wan't to run a HD cam on the nose, such as a GoPro or a DJI Action 2 like me, you won't be able to put a battery in the forward portion of the fuselage, as it will just be too nose heavy. The pointy nose is for people who don't want to have a HD camera, using that means you can put a battery My plan initially for this model was to build it light and fast, which is why I have the F80 Pro motor and 6x4.2 prop. Eventually I will put a heavier sunnysky 1400kv motor on the back, which will allow me to put 2x 3000mah 4s Li-Ion packs in it, one in the back (like in the video) and one in the front, and have them wired up in parallel. The plane will be heavier of course, but the lower kv motor will allow me to have a bigger prop and hopefully a more efficient powertrain.

I realise this is an old thread, but in case anyone else reads: I have a very similar setup (F80 2200kv, 2200 4S), but with a 30g SMO 4k. I need to put my lipo pretty far forward in the nose in order to balance it. I was thinking of putting a 1300kv F90 in but I'm not sure I can balance it out. (However I do have a heavier printed motor in the rear, which is also contributing - I think it's about 10g or so.)

How's the efficiency with that prop? Should have thrust for days tho 🙌
@grim-upnorth2 жыл бұрын
MASSIVE thrust, not much in the way of efficiencty though I'm afraid haha. This particular build was meant for as much speed as I could get on a 4S LiPo.

didn`t see the caddx peanut.. is it hidden somewhere? I am hoping to do similar with caddx vista. hoping I can find the stls
@grim-upnorth2 жыл бұрын
No sorry, the caddx peanut is not on this plane. That list is on all my video descriptions, and not specific to this particular plane. What STLs are you trying to find? I designed all the 3D parts on this build and haven't put anything on thingiverse yet.

@@grim-upnorth So the Caddx is on top of the foam spacer and just using the wedge to support in case?
