Awesome video, love your camera setup and very thorough breakdown, I do think There’s more features, I seen all videos at least twice lol but one sounds like something you want to get, it’s the steering wheel buttons, I think it’s a built in app

The headlight dimming function still works. You just set the brightness you want with Headlights off, then turn them on and set the preferred brightness, then it remembers the two settings.

Some of the same quirks as the A6.... sounds like a great unit for the $. Sometimes i want the misses to drive the miata just so i can play with the stereo. The look of the feel is still similar to the A6. Audio has some cool adds. Thanks for the video!

My poor Miata is broken at the moment :( burned a valve so doing a full rebuild. Missing some great driving weather lol.

And, I picked up my 01 a couple weeks ago, 140K on the clock. Has an oil leak, new cam seals and front crank seal arrive in a couple days. The 01 will receive many parts from my totalled 03 with 52K that's been in the garage for 10 years (runs beautifully). Would like to stop the oil leak in the 01 before I swap the engine.

Thanks for the great deeper dive into the ATOTO S8. I'm on the verge of installing one into a 2005 4Runner. Do you know if the S8 can be configured as a two channel DVR to automatically record the front and rear camera whenever the car is on? Is there a way to have the rear camera video automatically display when shifted into reverse? If not, I guess I could press the icon for the rear camera view?

Should be a trigger wire and reverse wire so it automatically comes on in reverse.

Thank you so much for these continued reviews. Im interested in a 6 month review please. I made a mistake and bought a Eanon android big screen. Its already needed to be 'fixed' with a rebuild and that was only after, cumulatively being used for maybe 2 hours, as this is a sitting project. I was getting interior done with the body being next. I have no faith in this thing and the atoto may be my replacement pendingbyour daily use 6 month update.

So the 10" clears the AC vent on your Volvo. That sure looks like my 06 V70. So good to know that'll fit. I have an app called "Auto Best Brightness" on my Samsung tablet that lets me turn the brightness up and down easily. Would that work on the ATOTO?

Spotty problems with previous and next track when streaming audio but not when playing local audio is likely to be a low bandwidth internet connection that prevents adequate buffering. If using 4G, try parking in the driveway and connecting to a fast home WiFi.

Do you think it would be an issue to have in the Miata for MsDroid? Would it cause an issue with the stock shifter?

Hey Remy, its close. You'll need to raise the screen to the highest level, but you should have enough clearance from the shifter. The max you want the screen protruding from the center stack is 2.5" measured from your tombstone (the radio panel) to the front of the screen. MSDroid should work fine with this, but I have not tested.

Mines skips track when I press volume up and there's white static on the edge of the screen that's goes away 1min after booting and the navigation buttons don't work sometimes these cost a lot and should never have these issues that u never experience in other units not even in the cheapest units

Thats horrible. I have a pioneer double din $400 never had an issue. Thats why i cant but these off brands those bugs and issues would drive me crazy

I noticed Android Auto in a 2023 Hyundai i20 responds to Dim Mode when it's turned on on the phone, does the Atoto do the same thing?

I have an S8 standard and I can say it does for my S22 Ultra. I found out by accident last week after I installed the S8 and couldn't figure out why Android Auto was so dim. Once I turned off extra dim on my phone, the brightness returned to normal on the unit.

My screen locked up. Touch screen does not responds anymore. And since I used the lock screen function, now I can't do anything. I can't enter my pin nor use it. I tried to contact their support but no reply.

And CHECK your car's actual measurements, especially Toyota's! Atoto claims their A8 standard is "Double DIN compliant" but is OVER-Sized for the spec. Sure, some cars can fit it in there, but not all will. I wasted time & effort ordering it, my Gen1 Highlander is 100mm x 200mm, too damn small.

I bough ATOTO S8 Ultra PLUS - honestly so far vary bad experience, most of important applications like Netflix, Disney+ cannot be installed from Play, WiFi is turning OFF automatically every 30 seconds, Software support is nightmare, Not possible to use any professional android File Managers, because the Software Shell limits rights of the unit Android user, cannot be root (?!?!?!?) How you can give this unit such good reviews/ opinions? Did you get special not commercial Software ? I bought this on Amazon from Official ATOTO USA seller - HUGE waste of over 1k USD. Can you share your Software Image? It looks you have got something special totally diferent than every regular customers are getting.

To give a bit more detail, click on the"System" button on the left four times. Enter the passcode 3368. Here, u can disable the quick startup if u want. I disabled mine, it's one of the first three settings, i believe. Now it completely shuts down at key off. (Takes about ten to 20 second to fully boot up) Haven't explored the other functions.

@@hmata3 hmm, yeah both aa/ACP and quick charge ports are working. I removed my cigarette lighter port and put in a USB for quick charging that comes from the radio
