His run defense is what really won him rookie of the year. He pretty much single handedly changed the Texans run defense from dead last to top 7 he was a top 3 run stopper in the league among everyone let alone rookies also thanks to the head coach

Great breakdown! Love to see how good his run stopping is when you consider our interior DL. And as for the pass rush and getting better/adding moves there… I’m so glad we brought in Hunter!! And if Watt can even make some teaching appearances, this kid is gonna be ELITE!

As a Texans fan Will going to continue to get better and better in his rookie season he was already an elite run defender and some fans were complaining about why not getting sacks. I wasn’t worried because the sacks are going to come not to mention he was getting doubled team at times as a rookie. With him becoming a better pass rusher plus his already being great setting the edge as a run stopper and having Danielle Hunter on the other side. Expect Will Anderson to have a pro bowl type season and many more in the years to come

JJ Watt was in town over Thanksgiving to visit his brother in law Brian Cushing's family. JJ spent a lot of time in the gym at NRG that week and I'm assuming he gave WAJ some pointers, because that's when his sack numbers jumped. If that was the case and WAJ is a sponge learning from vets, consider that he spent the offseason working out with Myles Garrett and now has Danielle Hunter teaching him during OTAs.
