And that’s assuming he wasn’t responsible for any of it. I mean if he did little to nothing knowing what was going on he could still be in legal trouble and that’s the best case scenario, worst case is that he was just as involved as the mother and that call she gave him could very easily be viewed as a “hey the cops are coming for me, run or lawyer up” warning call.

I hope custody court takes this call into consideration in regards to Kevin & the kids. He didn’t give a shit, just horny. But it’s Utah, there’s basically no hope there. Evidenced by the fact there have been 100+ calls to police about Ruby but it took a physical escape attempt for them to do anything.

All the police need to do is ask the eldest daughter who escaped her family as soon as she turned 18 and has been trying to get CPS and the police to notice the abuse. Is her name Sheri? I’m sure she’ll be able to clarify how involved BOTH parents were in the abuse.

@davidpilger4136 I think guy is trying to point out how self entitled the word choice was. "I don't want" instead of "I hope those kids are placed somewhere, where they can recover and get the help they need. That the oldest kids are not dumped with 4 young kids, as much as they love them, it is NOT their responsibility" Or something like that. Well, yeah, NO BODY wants that. But the way it sounds phrased like that, sounds like no matter what comes out of it this guy should be punished like Ruby and Jodi, even if he never did what they did. Because this stranger? doesn't want it. It doesn't matter what any of us WANT. What matters is that ALL the victims get what they NEED. And I agree, the word choice for that comment was weird. Because it makes light of a delicate situatiin, and it IS a delicate situation. That needs to be handled properly. Not like "but he looked at me the wrong way" like how most other cases seem to be taken care of. I would love to see more of their extended family, is this a cycle of abuse? Are their grandparents just as abusive? Are their aunts and uncles victims? Abusers? Recovering? Ruby's sisters seem like a better option than the Oldest Kids, but also, they are online, which these kids need A LOT of time away from and to be monitored with. And they sound like mothers, hopefully they can provide the family nurture that the kids need. Who knows. None of our business, and hopefully they rein in how public this whole thing is. Maybe we will never know what happens to the kids, which honestly sounds like the best course of action. No more of their faces all over the internet, hey look at this freakshow! You think that's bad? Look at these kids faces, well their mom is the worst! Terrible

They had called the cops on the kids before cause they were roaming the neighborhood during school hours, and their mother was out of town when they asked the kids + a bunch of other stuff. Ruby probably moved her children into Jodi's house to be "treated" because they are "evil children". The same happened to her niece Jessi Hildebrandt (Jessi was left at their grandparents house to be treated by Jodi because they were "a bad teenager"). They experienced the same type of abuse (ducktape and all). Jodi is a very renowned counselor among their religious community, so no one ever questioned her. The parallels between what Jodi did to them and what Jodi did to the Franke kids is terrifying. The oldest sister (if she wants) should get government support and raise the kids herself. From where I'm standing, she's the only one who's consistently fought for those kids. @torijones5194

I can't think of anything she's said against him specifically. But what is telling is that before Shari went to college Kevin and Ruby had cut off the family. Then when Shari was out of the house and in school she got back in touch with her aunts and uncles, but not Kevin who left the house at this time. I feel that if she knew Kevin was innocent she would've tried to reconnect with him as well. Another thing that's telling is when I watched the full Law and Crime interview with the lawyer a few days ago his phrasing kept sticking out to me. The lawyer kept saying Kevin had never PHYSICALLY ab*sed the kids. I think he pharsed it like that because he knew if he just said ab*sed people would point out emotional ab*se. Another thing that was said in the full interview was when the host asked if the 2 older kids (Shari and Chad) agreed that the kids should live with Kevin, the lawyer started dancing around the question. If the answer had been yes both Shari and Chad think Kevin is fit I feel like the lawyer would have said that. So while Shari hasn't spoken out against Kevin there seem to clues that she doesn't think of him as innocent.

7:28 Yeah, that's been Jodi's MO for years. She drives a wedge between straight, married couples by demonizing the man (often through baseless accusations of s3xual impropriety and/or 'p0rn addiction', the latter of which doesn't exist) and planting conspiring thoughts in the woman's head. She breaks the man's spirit and entices the woman to be cruel. The worst part is, the Mormon church can't distance themselves from this situation fast enough. Most of her marriage-breaking took place while she was a Mormon-church-sanctioned therapist. The general authorities (top three levels of power in the church) knew her by name, some of which knew her personally. Jodi was literally being bankrolled by the Mormon church. She got referrals by bishops, she got paid by the church when referred Mormon clients couldn't afford it, and she pushed some of the more extreme parts of the church doctrine in her practice. That's not to say that everything she did was church-sanctioned, but the general authorities clearly didn't mind. Jodi's license was only suspended after a former client took his complaint to a secular body.

I know it seems wild to go that long without seeing your kids but I also know that happens a lot more often than people realize when parents are separating or divorcing and one parent is an absolute nightmare. My uncle separated from my crazy aunt and she constantly withheld the kids from him even though he had scheduled rights to have them, constantly tried to brainwash the kids their dad was rich and giving them no money which was so untrue, and taking away their cellphones and drilling them about what he would say to them. He couldn’t afford to go back to court and keep fighting her and keep calling the police to get involved just becomes traumatizing for the kids over and over again so he basically gave up and knowing these kids were going to be teenagers soon, hoped they would come see him and learn the truth which 2/3 did. But he went years and years without seeing one of them because she was a mommy’s kid and he didn’t want to drag her away and cause her trauma. So sometimes yeah parents can go a long time without seeing the kids and just hoping everything is okay and it doesn’t mean they’re an awful parent, they just don’t want to keep putting the kids through that.

@@aquaseahorselove3939 I'm not totally clued up on this family but I saw a video explaining why the eldest child left the family. It was because the mother got involved with a more extreme, dogmatic interpretation of the religion that was styled as 'life coaching' teachings. It was very critical of anyone following the coaching programme, constantly bringing down their sense of self and emotional state by saying they were selfish, lacked empathy, would anger God. They would have to write down their thoughts and behaviours and have them torn apart by the members of this following. Basically Cult 101 stuff. Putting this and that video together makes me believe the father didn't agree with how the mother and her business partner were interpreting the religion with this coaching programme but his beliefs still caused him to trust her because she is their mother. Edit: im gonna post this comment around so people can see the full picture.

(And no, I'm not saying everyone of those faiths are like this but it is a very well-known taught things) My egg-donor is very religious and considers herself a prayer warrior and she is so blind and deaf to how the world works and people truly are and she believes that all of the shit she put me and my brother through was what God wanted her from her as a mother.

She made one in particular have therapy with offenders also in the room. She is SICK. Many victims have came out and said that she tells the husband and wives to live in seperate houses or that they only should communicate in the therapy sessions and not talk at home. I mean seriously this lady does stuff that would come straight out of a lifetime movie with a crazy woman trying to break up a family.

FYI the reason Ruby knew she was likely going to be arrested when she called Kevin was because the hospital very likely phoned her after Russell, who was the child who escaped through a window, gave them his mom's phone number & she got to he hospital where both Russell & his 10 year old sister, Eve were being treated. Once Ruby got there she was not permitted to see her kids by the hospital staff, per law enforcement's directive. The police asked if she would answer a few questions & she refused. She was said to have left the hospital right after that & is very likely how she knew she was toast & why she decided to call Kevin, the kids worthless father.

Anyone who has been in any sort of abusive relationship with another person will know how easy it is to believe everything the abuser is telling you. It may seem ridiculous from the outside, but when you are in the mist of it, you will do whatever to keep your abuser happy and in their good grace. Again, I know how this may look like from the outside. Breaking away from any abusive relationship is harder than you think and more difficult that most will never know.
