Boris Becker was truly the best alround player... But he couldn't win big number of glandslams like today's players because he used to play very sportive serve & volley game, as a result he couldn't win the French Open as the baseline players would dominate on Clay. His serve & volley game was a real treat to watch..... Accurate booming serves & volleys. None of today's champions would be able to match the class of Boris Becker, Bjoyn Borg, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras. If Boris Becker had played baseline game like today's boring players, he could have won 30 Grandslams... His backhand shots were the best of all time and still no player could match the power of his backhand baseline return shots.

It was and still a treat to watch serve and Volley with single handed backhands. Present day Tennis is so boring.

@@SaurabhSharma-ql6xd well, you have Tsitsipas - he has a one-hand backhand

Zurecht chancenlos!

Courier’s game indoors wasn’t his strength. He thrived on hard and clay courts.

so weird to see both guys serving speed,i found it very slow compared to today players.even the womans serving at this speed these days.139km/h as a first service...hmmmm
@peterhammer69155 жыл бұрын
Becker had often a serve over 130 miles/ hour and I think he reached something like 140 as his hardest. That is 225 km/h which is still a very very strong number. He got those numbers 30 years ago with totally different rackets. No woman has or will in the next 100 years serve with the combination of speed and spin what Becker had. I think Venus has achieved 130 miles / hour a few times but the spin compared to Beckers serve is zero.

you're an idiot. Comparing serves between women and Becker is absurd.

Remi seems you have no idea of Tennis !! No one in modern era can match those booming serves of Sampras, Becker, Stitch, Ivanisevic, Phillipousis, Wheaton, Roddick etc

@ppm120667 so true...those were serve and volley days ..Artistic tennis!

Guys, he‘s correct - Becker did only serve with around 139 Km/h most of the time. When he served underarm! Most absurd statement from this remi cius
