I'm not sure if everyone saw this but it's just coming out on The Hill. Bipartisan report urges rethink of America’s Russia strategy. "The bipartisan committee charged with supporting democracy and human rights in post-Soviet states is pushing for the United States to dump the post-Cold War status quo in its relations with Russia and label Moscow as a “persistent” threat to global security." "A priority focus of the report’s strategy is to ensure Ukraine’s victory in its defensive war against Russia, calling for “massive” military and humanitarian assistance for Kyiv and allowing Ukraine’s armed forces to strike deep into Russia with U.S. provided weapons." "These lawmakers are likely to embrace the report’s conclusions that “the United States must prepare for long-term contestation, understanding that Russia has a centuries-long history of violent imperialism toward its neighbors, Europe, and the world more broadly.” I hope America's leaders wake up..............

It does not matter wha the politicians know or think They can not do anything without the OK from Wall St Wall St is paranoid that they will be frozen out of russia after the war is over . Thus they will not let Biden to allow the deep strikes into russia It is all about the resumption of the $ 5,000,000,000 that US companies have been taking out of russia every year till the war started . This is why it is OK for Israel to use US weapons against Lebanon because the US has very few financial interests in Lebanon but not OK for Ukraine to use US weapons deep inside russia because the US has billions invested in russia .

Let me be very clear. Milions of Ukrainians live in the occupied territories. Nothing that Zelensky said pointed to a negotiation where Ukraine would give away it's ground and people. When Zelensky said that the end of the war is closer than many think he meant winning the war, not by pushing out ruskies out of all territories but by hurting russia and their ability to wage the war so much that they will agree to withdraw as long as Kurwsk (intentional spelling) is given back and some political concessions are made. Political concessions which Ukraine probably does not aim to actually fullfill. Please don't give voice to journalists who misrepresent the situation, as they did from the beggining of the conflict, by creating articles that assume, that rusia does not hurt from the war and that the ground taken is the only metric of winning. If last rusian left alive takes out last Ukrainian square meter of territory, with millions of Ukrainians still living abroad, will that be a ruski victory? This is the thinking of those journalists stretched to it's limits. At current rate russia will run out of people before they take Ukraine. There is no reason for Ukraine to give up the territory and milions of Ukrainians living on that territory with ruskies losing so much with their attacks. If rusia ever switches to full on defence then the situation will actually be tougher in negotiations. Currently it's better to continue to kill and maim over 1000 ruskies per day as Ukraine does. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, you can find takes smarter than the stuff from those "journalists" in a dumpster. Edit: Kamala said it right.

09:55 - There is a major problem with trying to curb inflation with interest rates when inflation in large part is driven by excessive government spending.
@I-have-a-brain_and-use-it
@I-have-a-brain_and-use-it 2 күн бұрын
Inflation should be attacked with the consumption tax that the country has . And this applies to every country . Raising interest rates only hurts a small section of the community and benefits the sector that has the most disposable income . It make manufacturing much more expensive so the local factories go bust because retail just finds cheaper imports to maintain the current prices The banks make a fortune and pay their executives a windfall bonus while the government has to foot the bill for social security . Having the Reserve set the VAT or in our case the GST in 6 month increments is a far better plan because the money that is taken out of the economy goes to the government and not the financial institutions . I had a home loan that went from 4% to 18.5 % under the Keating government and that pushed us into negative equity . We got saved because our parents signed on as guarantors but some where around 22,000 Australians had their houses repossessed by the banks and auctioned off .In many cases they still ended up owing the bank money at anything from 10 % to 15 % and many never recovered financially . Now because money was tight and loans hard to get most of these houses ended up being bought by multi millionaires and added to their rental property portfolios so as mentioned those with 99+ % disposable incomes just got richer and of course spent more . I was delivering $ 5,000 bottle of booze to city office buildings all during the Keating recession that he & he alone created .

It would be something if Ukraine could apply for the seat that Russia is sitting on in the UN and make the claim the Russian federation has no right to it and if the countries vote for Ukraine to take that seat, that would be something a country that knows what it’s like to have their neighbor invade them, they would be the appropriate party to be on the security council

Good morning JP. I have all the time in the world for Talaria's ideas, however, I feel it necessary to state the following, I realize it will be an unpopular opinion. With the formation of Brics, it would be impossible to win such a vote. It is really that simple, soft power influence of the third world by bad actors is much greater than western influence. Therefore, while I appreciate that a vote should happen it would be moot. In the period when this would have to most likely occurred, western countries were more interested in courting Putin and this really hasn't changed to this day. This is further compounded by the fact that the UN is itself wholely and fully compromised through the filling of various positions throughout the organization with people who have no interest in what is right or wrong and are there to serve the interests of their country only (Putting uncle fester aside). This has been well documented for over a decade now in relation to Chinese power playing with positions inside the UN. I would assume under Modi India is doing the same thing as well.This is on top of the horrendous amount of western tankies inside the UN beauracry who actively work against normal and moral interest ( just look at the head of the IAEA slapping high fives at ZNPP with the occupiers). There is simply more power and influence in the hands of countries who have no interest in making this happen. I propose another modern scenario why hasn't there been a vote to remove, let alone sanction, Israel form the UN? More countries despise Israel over ruzzia yet no vote. My personal opinion is that the line between Bibi and Putin isn't really a line more or less the same person in that they require war to stay in power and are painfully old and out of date in their thinking. Finally, in terms of removing ruzzia from the UNSC, putting their veto aside. Do you really think that China wouldn't just veto this as well. I do not disagree with Talaria but I find her argument is lacking in an understanding of what the UN has become. I think that as someone who lives in a Chinese economic colony she should understand this but maybe not. Appreciate the work but it is unrealistic. Keep up the solid work JP.

The White House is beholden to Wall St . If it was not for project 2025 they would be 100% behind trump The terrified people are those in pin striped suits sitting around the big velvet covered mahogany tables readjusting future earnings to account for the 5 billion in profits from russia that will not be in next years financials . The US constitution was designed to give the man on the street the appearance of a democracy while business actually controls the government . So it is not Sullivan that is the problem it is needed $ 1,000,000,000 every 4 years to mount an presidential election campaign then finding $ 500,000,000 every 2 years to mount a congressional election campaign . This is the problem What meaning reforms can be done that will show fruits in less than 2 years so you can convince to give your party a second 2 year term in control of the house .

Jonathan wouldn't be a good fantasy MLB baseball league player. Seeing the Russian storage from Covert Cabal videos + the corresponding graphs gives the Russians a bleak view. The Covert Cabal graphs with the dates demonstrates that some Covert Cabal videos are somewhat dated. The Russians' artillery situation is more dire than Jonathan believes. The Russians are pulling out about 300 artillery pieces per month. The Russians will run out of workable storage artillery pieces by next April-June. Many of their remaining artillery pieces are garbage or missing barrels. The Russians are running out in storage of BMP 2+decent condition BMP-1 +MT-LB +T-80. The latest Covert Cabal video of the 769 storage base demonstrated the Russians pulling old T-62 tanks and poor condition BMP-1s. Not a great sign for Putin! The Russian ammunition situation is really not that important in the long run. The Russian will be producing millions of artillery shells with no corresponding artillery pieces. The Russian shot approximately 11 million shells the first year with the the corresponding barrel losses.

42:52 I've never seen Tim Miller (Bulwark) express so much disgust as in this video, which I watched in full yesterday. ATP doesn't show the part where Trump suddenly rants for minutes about his impeachment while completely ignoring Zelensky standing patiently next to him. Openly or veiledly humiliating others is another typical behavior of the malignant narcissist, along with constant lying. Tim Miller must be a very sane guy to sense Trump's veiled devaluation of Zelensky so strongly.

Thanks for another great video JP. Although I must say the idea that Russia can be kicked off the UN Security Council seems fanciful regardless of the purely factual legalistic merits of the argument. It just seems like wishful thinking that ignores all the non-legalistic soft factors that have led to the current state of affairs being unchallenged since the collapse of the USSR. It feels comparable to when people dig up obscure medieval laws that suggest an Englishman can shoot a Welshman with a longbow within the walls of Chester after midnight. You wouldn't do that an expect to get away with murder. What's true in law and true in reality are often very different. I don't meant to sound flippant as I know the idea is rooted in sound reasoning but it's also completely detatched from reality. I don't think any of the other permanent members would want to see any movement on membership of the permanent security council as it would inevitably lead to questions like why are the UK or France still on there? Moreover, why would China want that? As much as they are no true lovers of Russia it's useful to have another non-western aligned autocracy to vote with them. I think as long as Russia has a massive nuclear arsenal any NATO or other Western aligned policy towards Russia will be more cautious and conciliatory than we would like and will make any true justice for the war dependent on future Russian governments being incentivised to hand over war criminals or fund rebuilding efforts. True consequences in international law only apply to weak nations. It's the same reason why the US would never have to fear any consequences for Iraq or China for its treatment of Tibet or the Uygurs.

Johnathan, just a quick note. There's a lot of weeds in this presentation. I realize that it's your passion, and you do it well, but I am questioning if, at this point in the war, some points about the situation deserve more focus than, for example, Zelensky's visit to the arms factory, and Erdogan's visit with Trump. What struck me, as most in need of attention, was the assertion that both Ukraine and Russia have reached their limit, implying this might be a good time for peace talks. I have a couple of questions about this: 1) Why is aid to Ukraine throttled, to permanently keep them operating at the end of their tether? 2) It's been mentioned that Russia has only enough resources to keep it going till the middle of next year. Why now, is Ukraine being pushed into what is likely to end up in a disadvantageous compromise? 3) (of 2 :) I'm no economist, but if Russia counts the production of arms as GDP, then shouldn't they subtract from GDP when those same arms are destroyed in Ukraine? It seems to me that it's also Ukraine's allies that have reached a point of exhaustion, right at the point where the most appropriate action, for success, would be a final push in both assistance and encouragement. I realize that whatever is going on now, is being pushed as 'Zelensky's peace plan'. However, maybe he is only in this position because he feels that there's almost a complete lack of will, not only to supply the quantity of support needed for success, but even uncertainty over it's continuation.

31:00 - It is an important step that most leaders now have changed their rhetoric to Ukraine's being victorious in the war against Russia. Most only think of positioning before inevitable peace talks. Very few are discussing what a defeat would mean for Russia going forward. I have a lot of opinions on that particular subject, but I'll leave them for another time.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't JP fail to comment on Georgia Meloni's speech at the Citizens' Awards, where she was presented her award by Elon Musk? I am still trying to 'digest' what she said, as she ist far right. But many of the things that she said echo what JP says. Particularly her pro-ukrainianism. I would like to hear JP's take on her speech. If could help untangle some of the confusion in my head. She is definitely on a collision course with Trump and Orban.

One final comment: by any and every objective measure, Jordan Peterson mopped the floor with Zizek. Zizek conceded most of Peterson's critique of The Communist Manifesto, and fell back to making his critiques of capitalism, which were mostly anecdotal and had been largely corrected via regulations and tax policies. It was an unfair fight, and Peterson was heads and shoulders the better intellect in this debate. Zizek looked at times, foolish, and anyone who thinks otherwise is equally foolish.

Again, I watched the debate with Zezik, who is an expert on Communism and Marxism, and Peterson destroyed him, using critical thinking and objective facts. It wasn't close. But I would not be surprised if someone ignored the actual debate, and instead formed their opinion of Peterson by watching a video of an uninvolved observer who makes assumptions and uses poor logic in critiquing Peterson. Anyone who defends communism and Marxism must be prepared to defend hundreds of millions of dead people left in their wake.

Jonathan - I realize that the Russia/UN thing is a pet peeve of yours. I think this "issue" is a waste of time. If it was going to be an issue it should have been done decades ago. If Russia retaining membership and the permanent seat on the UNSC was a condition required for them to allow the peaceful (relatively) dismantlement of their empire I am sure it would have been granted. A hypothetical - if the devolution of the USSR into Russia and it's former vassal states were to result in a sharing of the USSR's permanent seat amongst Russia and the states replacing the former SSRs, what should be done about the permanent seat currently held by the UK? Should the UK share this seat with India, and the former empire holdings in Africa, the Caribbean, etc? And the same question for France. Again, I think this discussion is a waste of time.

Strange isn't it. JP says in relation to Russia "whacking all their money into building tanks is not a sign of a healthy economy", but when it comes to american arms being produced for Ukraine he never gets tired of telling us how that stimulates the american economy. You can't have it both ways. Incidentaly, I am all for giving arms to Ukraine irrespective as to whether it stimulates our economies. That shouldn't be a condition. If you convince a country to scrap the best deterant that it could possibly have and replace it with security guarantees then you are moraly obliged to help them if push comes to shove. That is a debt that we owe Ukraine, not a transaction with them. So it is a national debt that no US political faction can afford to default on if they want to morally save face in the history books and respect that american pledge. It is primarily a question of honour and indebtedness and only secondarily one of "strategic interests". 'Free meals'/charity or cost-benefit considerations are irrelevant.

one key difference i can think of on the spot is that russia has at least 5million worker shortage in the other sectors of their economy, whereas usa's economy is diverse, well-rounded (as any investment portfolio should be to succeed) putin is puttin all his financial eggs in 2 baskets -military and fossil fuels, then add in 19% inflation, selling off half it's reserves summer 2023 just to keep the economy afloat and then this year switching to a war economy. there is also the wage inflation spiral because of attracting russians to the frontlines

plus ukraine has some of the most fertile 'black soil' in the world, not only is it a key global food exporter already, as climate change causes increased weather pattern changes, food production will reduce. UK lost something like 20% of its food production one summer, i BELIEVE it was 2018, but if not, it was since 2018, cos thats the year i did a deep dive wondering WTF extinction rebellion was all about n looking into their claims via scientific papers. And ive kept mostly up to date since. Scarily, i also learnt via scientific american that same year that uk has approx 30-40yrs of harvests left in it's soil unless agricultural industrial process stopped and we start focusing on adding back to the soil (restorative ag) n that this was a global trend. you've also got the wealthiest people in the world buying up vast tracts of fertile land (bill gates?) So 'elites' are already very conscious of future food insecurity issues for current 'food prosperous' regions of the world

Jonathan, you have misread the current political situation in the US regarding support for the war in Ukraine. First, President Biden's comments in his press summary of his meeting with Zelenskyy, were very supportive, going so far as to support Ukraine's efforts for a victory over Russia. However, the $8billion aid package, which only provides an additional $2billion in military aid, supports Ukraine for, maybe, the last few months of Biden's presidency. VP Harris, however, was far less supportive of "victory", instead voicing support for a lasting peace, and then some mumbo jumbo about a just and lasting peace that the Ukrainian people will support. That is not equal to victory. She is clearly looking for an exit ramp in terms of US policy (just like everyone in the EU and Nato. President Trump says the quiet part out loud, which is that he will find a peace deal with Putin and impose it on Ukraine (eg, take this deal or fight alone). Trumps approach is exactly what Harris will do; it's just she won't sat it out loud. The net of Zelenskyy's trip to the US is: he failed to get long-range targeting support from the US, his Victory Plan is dead in the water (was it really a plan?), and he angered the Republicans in the US House which will not help his cause next year when he comes back for more money. While the war is not over, it is now entering its conclusion phase, which might include The Zelenskyy family shopping for a nice townhouse in London or Paris. Let's hope that by this time next year, no more Ukrainian or Russian kids are being killed to feed Putin's ego or your lust for Putin's blood.
