ATPL theory tips - Marija

Guys don't focus only on how to pass the exams, I can't tell you how confident and comfortable understanding the subjects will make you feel during your Airline screenings and your type rating ( I'm speaking from a personal experience).

Good tips Marija! I just have to say that it's nice to hear where you are coming from on your dialect.. I can hear because I have lived in that specific country for some time :) As I have recently completed the theory and have got my licence I might have some input regarding ways of studying for the viewers. First of all I want to say that everyone are different and what is good for you might not be optimal for other people. I was an integrated student, finished in 1 year and 6 months with CPL ATPL Frozen and MCC. The arguments to join an integrated course are that you will probably finish faster and be able to start working faster. Second is that you will reduce the living costs and reduce the period where you will not be able to have an income. Another reason is that you will always have access to an instructor that can explain to you face to face. But of course! Modular can be good for the ones that might want to work at the same time or for some other reasons. As for the exams. Your success and professionalism depends on one thing, yourself. Your school can only provide the means of learning and it's up to you to take in and expand your knowledge to an even higher level. You're not learning only to pass the exams, it's for the safety of all the thousands of passengers that you will have during your career that depends on your professional attitude towards learning. Don't focus on just passing the 75% mark. To achieve the best results, as Marija says, is to do 2 bigger subjects and 2 smaller in the same session. The smartest way to manage your 14 subjects in 6 sessions is to finish with at least one or two sessions left. I did Gnav, PoF, Met, AGK, INS in the first session. But make sure you study to learn and to get the best result possible for you to achieve and to get as much knowledge as you possibly can. ATPL theory is tough, but vital, not only for yourself.

Nice tips! But if you will let me, I'll suggest adding some more: when learning a theory, don't just answer question bank, as it will only train you to answer questions in an exam, but also really memorise what you are reading, because in the future you'll be required to know all this stuff, but there may not be multiple choice questions :). Please, keep your videos coming! P.S. I also found Briston GS books and question bank to be one of the best out there :)

May I suggest that you make a video of advising the best methods or your methods of studying each of the 14 subject. As everyone knows that its a battle against time, it would be best to know a method to study for each subject.

Hello John, glad to hear that;) I didn't take any exam yet, can only start them in December. The minimum score yet is 75 percent, but most airlines like to see higher scores.

Thank you John for caring so much about the quality of the channel. As I have just finished my theory classes, I wanted to share the information gained there with others, and say what helps me to study the ATPL theory more efficient. I do not even try to say how to pass the exams, as there is no formula like that and everyone use different strategies. As you probably don't know, this project is made for flying enthusiasts who want to see other flyers at their current stage of training and follow them through their journey, as well as it is made for positive and constructive people.

Glad to hear that, Suraj! Well, there are a lot of details to memorise for sure, and that's probably the hardest thing to do. When it comes to questions which require logical thinking rather than learning by heart, then the quantity doesn't matter too much once you captured the idea of how to solve the problem:)

It will take you a lot longer than 1-2 months. Remember: we are talking about 6-7000 pages of theory - and in addition, you will need to undergo multiple exams for each subject at your ATO before commencing to do your ATPL examinations. It has taken me roughly 1 year to complete ATPL exams combined with commercial flying and Instrument training. ATPL theory is massive. Study hard, and give it time.

Hi everyone! Firstly, I'd like to wish You all good luck with Your flight trainings, and exams. As +Marija Slezeviciute said, try to mix together tougher subjects with the easier ones during ATPL theory exams. Listen to her, because she is a smart person. What would I recommend is to start Your session with the hardest subjects. You'll be more confident, and relaxed at the end. Of course Your aim shouldn't be 75%, but 90+%. My opinion about ATPL theory exams- "The devil is not so black as he is painted.". +Marija Slezeviciute I highly recommend You to do IR, MCC, and JOC in ATO Royal-Star Aero. Sim training is in Warsaw. They have good prices, and in my opinion really good instructor Dominik Punda. Dominik is a CPT in Wizzair with about 10k flying hours. Great person, great teacher, and even greater aviator. I hope You enjoy Your stay in Poland :) +Mentour Pilot awsome channel! Really excellent job! Subscribed already, and I'm waiting for more. I've recieved my MCC, and JOC certificates a few days ago. Now it's time to send applications. Because I don't like just sitting, and waiting I want to start FI training. What do You think about it? Hello James, after PPL exams I obtained my license, then did hour building and now preparing for ATPL exams, but you can buy ATPL material once you have your PPL:)

Hello Serhat, thanks for the questions. I didn't need to convert my EASA PPL to FAA completely. I have received a foreign based FAA certificate and my EASA license was still valid. So when I came back from the USA I didnt need to do any conversion, and my flight hours counted under EASA rules. I took my cessna from Plus One Flyers club in San Diego:)

GCSEs and A-level is way harder than ATPL, so if you did fine on those exams and you will be fine in ATPL

Hello Edison, like I mentioned before, to have a degree is always only a plus and better to have it than not, though it's not a requirement nowadays. So if you have time and money, why not?:)

I will try to create more and more useful videos:) The answer is that there is no difference in the level of difficulty if we are talking about EASA member states, as all the ATO's use the recognized theory materials and the exams comply with them.
