I m 100% sure they wont like it. Its glorifies stalking and Dhanush in that film is such a problematic character, who is portrayed as an innocent man. I loved it when I was kid, but couldn't rewatch even half of the film now. The director and one of the actors itself came out and said the film didn't age well and its very problematic

Dhanush has done only 3 Hindi films. You mentioned one (Shamitabh), the other one is Raanjhanaa, which was also his first Hindi film, and it was directed by Anand Rai, the same man who has directed this film (Atrangi Re). Akshay Kumar is not exactly playing Sara Ali Khan's co-star in the film, there is a lot of age difference between the two, she is almost 30 years younger than Akshay ! If you pay attention to one scene in the trailer, Sarah is sitting on ground level of the platform, while Akshay is sitting on a bench when the train passes behind them, basically she is not sitting at the same level as him, lovers don't sit like that, she is almost treating him like a godly figure.

There's actually a rumour going that Akshay in this film is actually just a figment of the girl's imagination. Hence the wacky scenes and theatics with fire, circus and elephant. She mentioned she ran away with him many times before but always got caught. Maybe cuz he's not real. That is what interests a lot of us. If Akshay is just a normal guy, then the movie's generic.

PLEASE PLEASE Review 'Muthal Mariyadai' film in Tamil. It is one of the milestone movies of the Tamil Film industry directed by legendary Bharathiraja and music by Raja Sir!.
