8:50 I was working on a game with nearly this exact concept for quite awhile. It never really went beyond a very rudimentary demo, but I had a lot of plans for it. The concept was that some of the characters were actually in an end-times cult, but the player would only get tiny hints that something was amiss for in-game years. The story would culminate in the player either joining the cult, continuing the game but killing off a majority of the characters, or ending the game by fleeing town with their closest friends depending on who they managed to raise friendship with.

6:40 - lemme be the "uhm actually" guy. It's the Street Fighter 6 DLC, four new characters. Season 2, after the first year of additional content. Two of those characters, Terry and Mai are from a completely different franchise by a different company. So they're guest characters, which is a pretty big deal because Street Fighter has never done it before. Other games have, but not Street Fighter. So while it's not "every fighting game converging" (at least not yet) it is kind of a crossover episode, yes. Also something something, CvS3. (i would've preferred kyo instead of mai, but oh well)
