You guys got some much needed rain at just the right time. I think this KZbin farm will hit the highest yields. Looking forward to seeing the new combine in action. If any of you are looking for Semi trucks for harvest, I am selling 8 trucks from my fleet. We purchased 8 new Peterbilt's so I am selling 8 of my current OTR units. I have 1 Pete 389, 1 Pete 579, and 6 KW T680's. All of them have between 400-500k miles on them. All of these are 2017-18 year model trucks with sleepers. We are selling them instead of trading them. The cost will be around 85k per truck except the 389 which will sell for about 120-130k. All of these units will have Cummins power and we can provide all the maintenance records. There is a mix of automatics and manual shift. Send me a message if interested and I will have my maintenance manager contact you with pictures etc. We will transport them for free to anywhere within 500 miles of Knoxville TN with a full price offer. We don't finance but my banker at BMO finance will gladly help out if there is a need.

I had wanted to ask you a question on combines now that you got a new one I will ask. We are looking at getting a low houred s760. However with the economy the way it is we thought maybe in time the price would lower. But the other day a local farmer said that the problem with combine prices is that there are not enough new ones being made. Not necessarily the economy. So do you think waiting till next winter they will be cheaper then last or not. Love your videos
@aTrippyFarmer2 жыл бұрын
As long as the equipment production stays behind demand, the used market will stay very firm. Eventually, the price of new equipment will get too high, or the farmers will lose the excess profits they’ve had for the last few seasons. This will slow purchases down, and, ultimately, drag the used market down. You can see this same problem in the car industry. Personally, I think going with the lightly used option is the best route. These machines will lose $100,000 in value in the first 2-3 years, which is pretty ridiculous. It is cheaper to rebuild the separator components than to constantly trade for new. As for timing your purchase, it is tough to guess on the market. I doubt we see much softening between now and next winter. We are in for at least 2-3 years of high prices, especially given the energy crisis in Europe. If you can pencil the combine out and it seems like a good purchase, you might as well pull the trigger.
@johndeere40112 жыл бұрын

@@aTrippyFarmer I believe gleaner is the most underrated combine on the market. My grandpa always called John Deere expensive green junk. Our family grew up with Allis Chalmers and gleaner. There’s no other combine like it. More farmers need to take a look at what gleaner offers. It’s transverse design rotor naturally flows the grain into the rotor. The crop is conveyed easier and the crop is not compressed like other models. The feeder house is the same width as the rotor. 39 inches in width. Gleaners are much lighter and have the fewest moving parts. That’s a huge bonus in my book. John Deere machines are notorious for being heavy. Gleaners weigh about 32,000 pounds, while John Deere machines are about 45,000. Hope you have a bountiful harvest!

She doesn’t have a Class A license and I do. The only other option is my dad running a truck and her driving the combine.

Why are rhe drains called tiles
@aTrippyFarmer2 жыл бұрын
Decades ago, farm drainage pipes where sections of clay tiles. Although everything that is installed now is plastic piping, farmers still refer to it as "tile."
