I think what goes under the radar with Martinelli is his best moments are always on the counter and when he is given space. The striker position is just one thing. The whole team is unbalanced in attack. We need specialist positions. Meaning we need a left 8 or stick with Merino, a new winger, left back and striker all to come in. Califiori can rotate with a new left back/centre back. Stop putting square pegs in round holes and play the team how it should be!

To me the problem is the same it's been for months now, we play with too slow a tempo and are not direct or attacking enough. They need to move the ball around faster and more forward with quick switches of sides. The other thing is that Arsenal owners are too cheap and lack ambition, they said "be excited" but give us nothing to be excited about. They should have gotten Gyokeres last summer, he is the perfect buy but 100 million Euros was too much for them to pay. If they have a smidgen of ambition they would get him in January. Gyokeres is durable, robust, he is good in the air, can shoot with both feet, he's fast, powerful, extremely good at pressing, and can play across the frontline.

I'd say it's been like this since odeguard got injured. What i noticed lately is that we opted not to play quick transitions even when there's a very good opportunity to do it. We always favour reseting our shape and let the opponent reset as well. It is also not helped that we don't have almost any good transition players. If Arteta/Arsenal doesn't try to address this in Jan or the summer, then it says alot about what kinda of manager Arteta is and how serious the club wants to win.
