Late to the party but to anyone finding trouble getting Lane Keeping Assist to work here's how you fix it: TURN ON FORCE FEEDBACK. It's under Controller Feedback in Controls. It's wise to tweak the settings to your liking, especially Assisted Steering. Happy driving!

G'day Yabadabadoo, while Force Feedback helps it doesn't fix it by any means, I have Force Feedback turned on all the time and in all my videos on Lane assist. however tweaking the settings is where the real fix is but it takes so much tweaking and just when you think it's all good you find out that each truck is different and you have to tweak it again for that truck and on it goes, it is a great idea unfortunately it is poorly executed. 🙂

I've tested the lane assist on my game with the same truck. It works with and without the trailer. When you engage the function you have to make sure the truck isn't swaying back and forth in the lane. It's trying to stay within the lines but it causes it to over correct and leave the lane. Straighten the truck in the lane when you engage the lane keep, and it will basically self drive with cruse control.

My issue is that's not how lane keeping works irl, this is more akin to lane departure assist, which only intervenes when you're about to leave your lane. This is proven by videos showcasing it on real trucks. Personally, I've never driven a car where Lane Keep was ping ponging me like that. LKA, as the name implies, is supposed to *constantly keep* you centered in your lane, even if you let go of the wheel. Also, that's probably a bug but it shouldn't matter if you have a trailer or not.

It’s a lane assist. Not auto pilot. It’s if you’re not in focus on the road and you drive of your lane. It steers you back. But you still have to take over

G'day Django, Yeh I guessed that by the name "Lane Keeping ASSIST" lol but I am trying to set it up like an auto pilot so I can get some panning shots when making videos and not worry about the truck running off the road

Except that isn't how it works in real life. In real life, these systems will effectively auto pilot, at least until big bends. I have a CR-V from I think 2018 or 2019 with it and it will do exactly what you say it shouldn't do and what is shown in the video: keep you within the lanes and it doesn't ping pong you like some of the jacked up settings in the game. They just need to tweak the mode so it actually works like how it does in real life without some magical button press combo to make it work like is shown early in this video.

Thanks for this video!!! This issue has been racking my brain for a while. I was even in the controls.sii file trying to find sensitivity settings, but nothing worked. I’ll give it a try with a trailer attached and see if it works. 😉👍🏼

G'day Sunil, unfortunately it's still a work in progress and because of that it's a bit hit and miss, it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't so until SCS fix it then it is what it is. 🙂

I absolutely don't know how you do that. I'm also using a logitech g29 but it doesn't work anything like yours. With keyboard it works perfectly fine as I tested so the settings should be good. But somehow when using my wheel it does not work at all. Like, it steers back into the lane but after that it's like it turns off. Anything above 40% assisted steering just goes crazy and below 40% does nothing. I can't see what I'm missing!

Thanks, I tested it and I see where this is going. But imo, the lane assistant still needs many fixes for working with less stiffness. I like to drive with one hand ('cause why would you need to drive with two hands) and the assistant is far from working with ffb below 120%. And for me, anything above 100% is far to difficult to get a nice wheel handling. But thanks anyway!

G'day jr D, I have noticed that in some trucks I don't get the sound either, so it might be the truck your using, I have found if you are in a new modern truck I get the sound but if your in an older mod truck for example I don't get the sound. 🙂

What I don't understand is why the hell did they decide not to fucking show if those assists were on and which mode was active ? They took the time to develop the adaptative cruise control, the lane assist and there is no way to know if those systems are on, and the selected mode. You have possibility to bind a toggle and a mode button, but you do not even know how many modes there are. The same goes for the automatic transmission mode. You can put it in eco/normal/high power using the menu, or you can change it using a button, but again you have no way to know which mode you are in. And you cannot use a SimHub dashboard either because those status are not sent in the telemetry. To be honest, I really do not understand why they took probably weeks to develop such features, but did not think about showing their status somewhere like in the hud, which would have probably took like 5 min of coding. This really is a mystery to me.

For some reason, for me it doesn't work at all. I turn on the lane assist / lane keeping assist and it just doesn't keep me in the lane, sometimes when you hit the line very slightly it'll steer back, it does give the alert and stuff but it just doesn't actually keep you in the lane like I'm seeing with you. Might be the wheel I use, since you're using a logi, I'm using a T300RS, good chance they just don't have support yet. I've enabled it in gameplay settings basically did exactly what you did, yet it didn't help at all. Eve tried the modes, and one of them does indeed pull me to the left/right. You got any ideas on this?

G'day 3aq, There is another setting that I mentioned in the first video that might help you, it's in Options under Controls, scroll down till you find "Assisted steering" it's default is 50% you might have to increase it or maybe even decrease it to get it to work better for you. 🙂 Oh and make sure your testing it with a loaded trailer.

I'm trying to get the Lane Assist to work and I've seen other comments where you said to turn up the setting under controls and even at 100% at most it only pulls a very small amount back towards the center.

Definitely not a payload issue considering my gross weight is 77k lbs

Got it to work by turning my force feedback gain all the way up. Seems like it thought the resistance from my wheels friction was me holding it straight.

It shouldn't matter if it is with or without trailer but as you saw in this video it definitely worked better with trailer, the full 1.50 update is out now and it seems to be working correctly however I haven't tried it yet without a trailer. I am about to though and will let you know what I think after.

I thought there are only 2 modes based on the 2 keys you assigned. Clicking the bracket once turns the mode on. Click it again turns it off. Same for the other mode.

G'day B9Bot 1, The Lane Keeping Assist is either on or off and works fine, the other (not sure what to call it) is supposed to have 3 options, off, warning only and keep in lane, but it seems to have at least six or seven and a couple of them just pull you to the left or right. I am guessing it still needs work as it is beta so it should be ironed out before actual release. Or I am just not understanding how to set it up or how to work it lol.

​@@roanegaming hey bud I don't know if you have it figured out or not but I have some general settings and information that some people do not understand for a smoother straighter line for the driving assist I have some settings that need to be finely tuned depending to your liking better forgotten about I have tested miles and miles of almost touchless driving with your knowledge you might be able to get it more perfected my internet is down on my computer for some while so I am using my phone I am hoping to try to post a video but it will have to be from my phone and an easier way of sharing me settings with you if you haven't got it completely perfected yet but I figured the settings would be nice to share with you

@@roanegaming yes sir I do 24 hours of testing I know you have a Discord but I need to try to remember my login so I can try to send you a video as well and try to do a simple explanation it's a few inside game slider bars and I have tested on a modded truck to see if it would work and a little on SCS trucks that you could have various different settings you kind of just got to Peak and tweak the slider bars and see what results fit you best due to the setup of the truck I will try to have you a video and the end game slider bar settings to play with
