Thank you A.P. for another great video. I picked the Kenworth W900 as my favorite truck. Since playing ATS since 2020, I have always loved driving the W900. Even so, I always hoped that it would be updated to the current level of detail like the newest trucks. I was extremely happy that SCS did this earlier this year to celebrate 100 years of Kenworth trucks. The updated version had a complete overhaul of the truck’s interior and exterior, along with new and updated parts. I especially liked that the truck was updated to the current environmental requirements with the addition of the DEF tank and the “California Certified” sticker, but also kept the original “pre-DEF” configuration for the CAT engines. In addition, I really loved the addition of the 86 inch Studio Sleeper. Also, the redesigned exhaust stacks look more accurate and properly modeled. Other options that were added included the choice to have a regular roof or a sunroof, the LED turn signal lights, the new modern rear mudflaps, and many others. Overall, the truck’s detail looks much sharper, shinier, and more accurately modeled. As for the new Volvo VNL, I really like this truck too. After a 10,000 mile test drive, I decided to make it my favorite modern truck and a very close second to the W900 as my overall favorite truck. I felt SCS did a great job with the internal and external designs and modeling. In addition, I felt that the default sounds were some of the best in ATS. My current top five favorite trucks: 1. Kenworth W900 2. Volvo VNL 3. Freightliner Cascadia 4. Western Star 5700XE 5. International 9900i

I really hope that they remodel the T680 and Peterbilt 579 because they are the oldest trucks in the game. I was reading a very old blog post from scs (from 10 years ago) and it had a fully finished Peterbilt 579 and it even had open doors and bonnet. I saw another one in early 2014 with the T680 (also fully finished). They are my 2 fav trucks

I personally like the Freightliner the most, it has good power, a sleek design (*a bit bias because my fav truck KZbinr drives it*), isn't necessarily loud inside the cabin, a great dashboard, good fuel mileage (tho a small tank) and doesn't have a super long nose. The long nose design is something I just do not like about the older design trucks, but it makes you feel like an old school trucker

Personally for me My favorite Truck in the game is still the International 9900i (Eagle), It's just such a beast of a truck, not to mention probably one of the best sounding Vanilla trucks in the game. Sad thing is that i feel like that truck is now kinda forgotten by most players.

My Top 3 is the 57X, the New VNL and 49X. What I love the 57X is the blind spot indicator and digital dashboard... for someone with eyesight issues it's a bless. But, the VNL has more options AND bigger tanks.

Yeah, when they released the new VNL they made the fuel tanks a separate modification where earlier released trucks it was tied to the chassis you choose. Just you changed the material used for the tanks. With the 49x having either set forward or set back axles. I tend to favor trucks with setback axles. Sadly, there isn't a power hood option for the setback axles for the 49x.

Love the Freightliners Cascadia the most. The long wheel base looks awesome, the middle is my favorite almost European feel to it (not bad with parking) and the daily is so easy to drive. Driven a lot in the Kenworth W900 daycab in the past. The Peterbilt 389 long wheel base is awesome until you need to park ofcourse 😅 Love the new Volvo VNL beeps. Glad most US trucks are in the game. Would like an older Freightliner Cascadia or Columbia. There still plenty of them on the US High Ways.

the best thing about the new VNL is the crazy fuel economy when using the new TC engine. i can easily reach 10 mpg on the highway, which is crazy for something like 57x. i can only reach 8 mpg with 57x.

So what engine should I go with? The TC Volvo one or the Cummins X15 565? I do know that the Volvo engine has a bit more lag, where it stops being as fast around 50 MPH. Though, stats says it is able to haul heavier things easier. The Cummins is fast though.

Freightliner Cascadia by far. One thing I love about Cascadia is that it's one of the shorter trucks which gives it a smaller turning radius. I do love the classic look of Kenworth trucks but the extra length makes it really difficult when it comes to parking.

6x4 chassis are what you want, if you're going to be pulling heavy cargo you want the option of the second powered axle. The trucks that do not have the option for only one powered axle are trucks that are often used for hauling standard cargo which isn't nearly as heavy so they can get away with only having one axle powered by the engine which is why they are called fleet trucks. Trucks like the W900, 49x 57x as well as the 579 are meant for a wide range of load weights. But are heavily set for heavy cargo. The truck I use in my profile that I use an economy mod and the mod pack for engines and transmissions I use has a good eco variant of the largest Volvo engine with a good I shift Transmisson that is good for both cargo types. It's the newer Volvo VNL. Works well and gets pretty good fuel economy.

The ingame Peterbilt 389 and Kenworth W900 share the 625 BHP Caterpillar C15 King of the Hill engines but it's still a straight 6.

They did put in most of the modern trucks available from them. The one that is lacking is Kenworth, Peterbuilt and International. International you have the HX series, which is only available as a mod, Kenworth you have the W990 which is also available only as a mod and Peterbuilt there are newer styles of trucks they do not have as of now. At some point the long nose 389 is going to get the same treatment as the W900 with modernization for it. But I find it strange that they haven't added in the option for a single piece windshield or a two piece for the W900 it's still an option for the W900 I think it's even an option for the W990.
