I had an ATS-V with manual, but traffic here in the SF Bay Area killed it for me. Would consider going back w/ an auto.

I'm getting rid of my 2015 Golf R for that same reason and my clutch foot , my ankle is done for due to injury 10yrs ago coming back to haunt me. I'm looking for a 4dr ATS-V in Blue w-sunroof

The Automatic on the ATS-V is great. Especially the paddle-shifters. I find myself shifting manually more often than not.. It rips. And has tons of torque.. I love mine. And I used to like Stick-Shift cars. Never again.

Dave Leone has claimed from the onset that it was designed to shift fast as DCT in Auto Mode. You guys keep jumping in the car and use the paddle shifts, then go on to say, it's slower than DCT.

Hi, Thanks for the comment. I understand your statement but I was not trying to bash the car, but just giving my opinion as to the feel compared to the DCT.

which car do you think more people perceived as being an expensive vehicle? In other words which car gave you more clout? I prefer the atsv based on Aesthetics.

I think more people think of the M3 as the more expensive vehicle based on the BMW badge along with the iconic history of the M3. It's a tough call for me as I love(d) both of them. The ATS-V is my choice if comparing aesthetics to an older M3 sedan or the new M3. Thanks for the view and comment.

The A8 when WOT is super quick. Cruising is slow and it's learning transmission tho. I saw a video on a c7 Vette auto shift speed. Hey you have to go to hand washes, those brushes scratch your paint. I'm thinking of either a stingray or atsv. I do have two kids though lol

Lol, normally I do. I have some awesome Adams Polishes products, but sometimes I just need that quick clean. Both are great cars! With 2 kids, the V may be a little easier to live with :) There is a motor trend video where Randy Pobst mentions how the ATS-V puts the power down better than the corvette, so I don't think you'd be missing out too much performance wise. Did you lease or purchase this car and most reviews rag on the infotainment and controls. How are they once you get used to the touch system?

cglarsen26 I leased it. I did prefer the BMW idrive system over this, but it's not too bad once you're used to it. The fingerprints can be a bit annoying, but it has a lot of nice features with Apple Car Play and wireless charging. My car was made in June of 2016 so it had the update to the software which was supposed to increase the speed and responsiveness. Thanks for the view and comment :)

lukesturbo from what I remember I was getting in the low 20’s combined. I do mostly highway driving. Some long highway trips I was getting upper 20’s. Thanks for the view and comment.

Mike R I do not own the V any longer. It was a lease. During my time with it, I did not experience any major issues. It was a great vehicle. I think I had around 30-35k miles on it during my lease period.

so what youre saying is that havent improved the dam transmissions since 2004 they couldnt shift then with the manual shifter to much delay.

Joeybabbs .BABBS hi thanks for the view and comment. It is slightly better when in track mode, but IMO not as quick as the DCT’s I’ve driven. Left in auto in track mode it is very fast.

GoozyVision Thanks for the video! Great review. I was so close to getting an ATS-V, and this might sound nuts, but the main reason I didn't, is due to the seats. My back is a bit messed up and the bottom seat cushion felt so soft (in both seat versions). Soft seats hurt my back after a while. After getting into another S4, my buddy mentioned the ATS-V might have an air bladder to firm up the bottom cushion. Do you remember if this is true?? Thanks!!

Marc4392 Thanks for the view and comment! I actually test drove an S4 previously. Very nice car. The Ats-V does have adjustable lumbar support, but the actual bottom cushion you sit on does not inflate. The side bolsters and seat bottom (side) bolsters adjust to hold you tight.

Thanks for confirming. S4 is nice, but a bit sterile when compared to the more visceral options in the next level up-- ATS-V, M3, Quadrifoglio, C63, etc.

If u don't mind what's the lease payment and what did u pay for it? I have an S3 lease 450 month with 15k miles 6k down n sticker 50k. Thanks. I used to have a 07 cts v that I leased as well.

Hi Kris, The sticker was $77,305. I was able to use GM exec discount from someone we know. I put $2000 down which included first payment, taxes, etc. 15k miles a year. I pay $785.xx a month. I actually have it up on swapalease.com now. I'm including the winter Bridgestone blizzaks along with stock summer tires and making one payment if you or anyone you know that lives in Mi would be interested. GoozyVision thanks for reply. Damn that's a high payment. I couldn't do it man. So wait u traded a m3 for V and now ur getting rid of it?sorry that sucks. Appreciate offer and info. What r u getting and why get rid of this. I can't say shit cuz I do the same thing all the time. I keep cars for a year or up to two and essentially waste money so I'm trying to be good lol. LOL, long story, but I went from the M3 to a 328 xdrive when the warranty ran out and we planned on having a baby. I missed having a fast car and when the 328 lease was up I cross shopped the M3, M4 and ATS-V. The payment is what made me go with the ATS-V as it was much lower than BMW wanted. To be honest at this point I was actually thinking of going the complete opposite route and considering an SUV or Truck as I've had 4 Grand Cherokee's previously and have looked at a Wrangler Unlimited. Something to save some money each month. If I can't get out of the lease I will just continue to enjoy the ATS-V though as it's a great car and provides plenty of fun :)

Thanks for the comment and suggestion. Unfortunately I no longer have the M3, but that would have been a fun race. I have a few friends with some nice cars that we may be able to set something up with.
