As a proud owner of the new zCP M3 (literally bought the car March 13, 2017)-The Giulia won fair and square. We could do hypotheticals like "if they had the same tires" but this is how each car comes equipped from the factory. For me, the race was close. Comparing the Motor Trend Head 2 Head track numbers they were basically identical (2:00:22 vs 2:00:61). For the everyday driver, it would come down to driver error. I chose the M3 over the Giulia Quadrifoglio because I thought it was better visually, dealer/service accessibility, available aftermarket options and overall practicality. Some may have the exact opposite opinion. Both are great cars. I can appreciate all cars for being awesome. I didn't buy the M3 because I wanted it to be the fastest car out there. I would have bought a used Nissan GTR (the other car I want to buy) or a Tesla since it has crazy acceleration. Great video!

The ATS-V is evidently the winner it does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, Giula Quad 0-60 is 3.8, and the BMW M3 comp 0-60 is 4.1........Don't take my work for it just look it up on google. Specs speak for themselves. This is all advertising nothing else. Also COUNTLESS videos of ATS V beating Bmw M3's, M4's, M5's, M6', and the M7'. You'd need a M8 to beat a ATS V. That's a difference of some 30-40 kilograms, even the weights of the drivers could result in such a variance. Usually the masses vary significantly depending on the equipment of the car, even by 100 kilograms. Thus we don't really know which car really has the weight advantage, but yea, there's always room for speculation.

That's probably about right. Assuming the Alfa is about 1600kg ish would mean +40kg slowing it by about 0.2s over 1000m - so it could be around 0.4s faster than the M3 if fuel levels were equal. Either way there's not a huge amount in it and they're both quick cars

lol I love how they intentionally make the ATS the slowest car here by a HUGE margin, Yet EVERY test shows it to be faster then the M3 Competition from every 0-xxx speed, Honestly, The M3 is putting literally BUSES on the V? Yet look at all the tests, Yet somehow by a miracle it just keeps pulling and pulling and pulling? Theres no doubt the QV is the faster car in most terms, 0-60mph ties with the ATS-V both doing a best of 3.6s, 0-100mph the QV edges it out with a 8.0s vs an 8.3s, Then followed by an 8.5s for the M3C, By the 1/4 the QV is still ahead at 11.8@121.5mph vs the Vs 12.0@123.9, Vs the M3C 12.0@120.1, Then by 150Mph the QV does it in 19.9 Vs the ATS-Vs 19.5 vs the M3 21.5, And yet magically the QV and M3 just put buses on the V? And lets not forget, The Giulia has 60bhp more then the M3 and 40bhp more then the V, While wearing wider R-Coumpound tyres, Pirelli PZero Corsas, Yet barely beats them both on track, Barely, While being 10k+ more expensive then both depending on country. Please, it's not named Pack Competition. It's Competition Pack (In English). And there's no way the Bmw only has 444bhp. More like 490bhp. Standard M3/4 dyno at around 410bhp at the wheels so that's up to 480 at the flywheel, not the quoted 425bhp.

The name of the option changes with the language, and in France it's called Pack Compétition. BMW is German not english. Either everyone one call it "Competition Paket" or no. Also the Giulia has been dynoed at 530hp too...

Thats why I put "It's Competition Pack (In English)". If the Alfa's realworld power is a bit more than quoted then the M3 Comp pack must be packing over 500bhp. I'd like to see what the M4 GTS dynos at. The official figure with water injection is 493bhp, but it must be at least 550bhp. Actually just found a Giulia dyno video and it recorded 392bhp at the wheels, which is around 465bhp at the flywheel. This is significantly down on the quoted figure. The owner did say the dyno recorded on the low end, so the car was probably pushing a little more, but clearly nowhere near it's quoted figure.

That's a Mustang dyno, an M3 makes around 365hp to the wheels on a Mustang dyno and everywhere else it's about 420, so around 480 at the crank. The Comp pack M3 makes a bit more power at the top end, between 490 and 500hp. The GTS makes around 530hp at the crank too.

Yeah, I had no idea what the Mustang dyno measured as far as accuracy. It's kind pf pointless dyno'ing anything on it if you dont get a more or less accurate figure. The new M5 coming later this year will around 600hp officially so I reckon it will be closer to 700 in the real world!

The Alfa Giulia Q and BMW M3 PC _are_ quicker & faster than the ATS-V but these results were crippled by poor test methodology: 1. Launch Control was used on the Alfa and the BMW, but not on the ATS-V. This was a significant difference. It is included on the Cadillac and should have been used. 2. The arm-waving start signal was amateurish. This cost the BMW 0.3 second against the Guiliua's holeshot (the ATS-V left about a third of a second before the Alfa, too). As dramatic as a side-by-side video can be, a far more accurate method would have been to measure each car independently using break-beam or accelerometer timers. 3. It was also disappointing to see the tests conducted with such a wide range in fuel levels (the Alfa had 7/8 tank, BMW was almost empty, and the ATS-V level was not shown). 4. The Cadillac's rear left tire was at 208kPa/30.2psi; it wasn't a factor in the race, but leaving that error message on display in the video was sloppy and needlessly distracting. Overall, it was interesting to see but the test methodology was poor. The results could have been significantly improved with minor changes. Which is faster, the BMW or the Alfa? This test did not accurately answer the question. How much faster are they than the Cadillac? This test didn't accurately answer that, either.
