Attach A Bed Frame To A Hook-On Headboard

I have a dilemma. I have a wood antique bed with metal side rails but the rails hardly have a lip or "cleat" to rest slats on or add support bars. Any suggestions?

is there a video anywhere that is the opposite? I have a bed frame that has hooks but I am hooking it to a headboard that does not have hooks. So on this video the headboard requires a hooks so she puts in an adapter I have the exact opposite problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What if I have a footboard that needs hooks as well but there aren't any type of brackets on the foot part of my rails. The frame that I have is a headboard only frame. My headboard and footboard requires a hook on frame. Please help.

If your bed is queen or king, the best, safest, and easiest thing to do would be to replace your current bed frame with a headboard/footboard frame like this one: www.thesleepshop.com/store/pc/Queen-or-King-Size-Bed-Rail-Frame-with-6-Legs-32p97.htm. It already has the hooks attached at both ends of each rail. However, you can also do it with bed frame parts by adding bed hook adapters like the ones in the video above and by adding a footboard bracket to your current bed frame: www.thesleepshop.com/store/pc/Footboard-Bracket-Kit-34p138.htm. This option won't be as sturdy. (If you have a twin or full size, the easiest thing to do is to replace your bed rails with twin/full size bed rails with the hooks already attached: www.thesleepshop.com/store/pc/Twin-Full-Size-Bed-Rails-32p88.htm) Hope this helps!

We cannot guarantee that it will work on every hook on headboard out there, unfortunately. The size of the bed doesn't matter.

It looks like the headboard I'm looking at the slots looks they wouldn't line up. Bed frame too low for headboard. The frame that was attached to this headboard was pretty high. This bed frame I currently have is low

Hi Rob, our normal frames sit about 7.5 inches off the floor. That is the standard height of most metal bed frames. The bed hook adapter allows for some height difference - it's 7-1/4 inches long. Whatever she hooks it into at the beginning is not on my headboard and she doesn’t show what it should look like so it didn’t help me. Unfortunately bc my brackets didn’t come with instructions!

Oh no! That was our door buzzer. It lets us know that a customer is coming in when we're taking a nap. hahaha! Really should have redone this video, but that's life in a retail environment.
