So what if the headboard is wider than the king size frame? It's about an inch wider and the hook adapter just won't reach it.

Why can't you just glue a flat wood block onto headboard post & screw the frame to that block OR directly into headboard post using a long bolt & nut? Would this not be cheaper and easier & eliminate both products to buy? It costs $100 for 2 kits of each for headboard and footboard. The above mentioned would cost less than $10 for wood and bolts and nuts with some to spare!

I was wondering why you couldnt just drill holes in the old hook style headboard and use the screws from the matal frame as if it was a newer headboard but this does look like a good solution but pricey
