Hi, I'm not doing a Peter Pan collar but a different type of flat collar. I don't have any pattern pieces left but it ends here with a raw edge so what do I do next please? Many thanks

Hi - are you following a pattern? What does this say to do next to finish the neckline? If there's not pieces for a facing, you could draft your own following the shape of the top and back pieces or you can use bias binding to finish the raw edge. The next video on attaching a facing can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKuyoGahmJl7oLs

@@HouseofMissSew thanks for replying! It's a vintage pattern and the only instructions are on the front of the packet... they say "attach the collar" which isn't very useful to a beginner like me!!! As I said, there aren't any other pattern pieces left which suggests I wouldn't have to use facing. Do you think facing would be easy for a beginner to make (this is literally my first ever garment haha)

Emily Lock vintage patterns aren’t easy to begin with as they don’t include enough instructions on how to work through each step. There is a technique where you sew through only the underside of the collar to attach it to the neckline, then tuck the raw edges into the collar and use hand stitching to enclose... I don’t have a video on this though... It might be easier to use bias binding to finish your neckline. I think I’ve seen example videos of this.

Thanks! Aha yes I'm very much guessing what's going on 😂😂 I did my first one and it was pretty good apart from the collar. I might see if I can give facing a go but if not I'll try what you suggested! Your help is much appreciated 😊

Would you mind if I emailed you with a picture for some more guidance please? I seem to be having problems before I even get to the stage of hemming the collar as it doesn't fit the neckline 😬 no worries if not :)
